How easy is this ignition to hook up? Does Mallory make connectors like MSD to make the unit a direct plug in?
At first we tried to wire it without buying a connector by trying to use the diagrams mallory supplied. All I can say is after a bunch of headaches I just spent the $30 and bought the connector from Jegs, MUCH EASIER. I have the part # somewhere if you want me to find it.

This connector was a Mallory part? I'd much rather spend the $30 to make the install go right and clean but I didn't see any Mallory connectors in the Jeg's catalog, only MSD ones. Did I miss the Mallory part or did you guys use the MSD one and it worked? Thanks.

I've got the invoice sitting right in front of me and the this is the part # 065029068. When I search Jegs nothing comes up. Try going to mallory's site
http://www.mrgasket.com/mallorymain.html I don't have acrobat reader so I can see if they have the part listed. The Jegs invoice has the aforementioned part # and under description is says "wire harness". You might just wanna give them a call, they're pretty friendly and will probably point you where you need to go.

Well you've opened my eyes to Mallory. This sounds like a real good deal, the Hyfire VI CD seems very comparable to the MSD Digi. 6 but for about $60 less. Unless someone can give me a good reason to think otherwise I think I'm sold. My future plans are for an NX wet 150 shot (whether on this motor, my future one or both) but I need a window switch or something to the same effect with the manual tranny just incase I get anxious and miss a shift. Informative thread, thanks guys.

Dunno if you knew this or not but the Mallory VI CD comes with a built in window switch (dunno if you were saying you needed one or was stating that's why you wanted the mallory box). I'd say it gets pretty cold in new york so I'd also invest in a bottle heater or you're not going to have nearly enough bottle pressure to run the system. I'd just go ahead and invest my money in a GENXI upgrade, or GENXII to get the purge to show off to the riceboys
