Talking Adding a Spray Light

Ive been playing around with led's the last couple of days and i attached one of them to my purge line. I ran the power for the led off the purge power and it worked great, as soon as you purge the light comes on. I have a nice red cloud coming out of my hood, you can pick your own color. Total price $1.00.

I also had another idea. If i run a light off of my nitrous solenoid back into the car i can have a light that lets me know exactly when my nitrous is spraying to check my window switch or just to make sure things are working correctly. The led's are low voltage so they shouldn't effect anything adversely. Any one have a reason why this wouldnt be a good idea. total price $3.00 with exra wire.

Everyone likes to add lights but these are kinda useful and cheap. You can buy 3 packs with wires almost anywhere for about $5.00 now. I used the third light to replace the bulb in my arming switch.

So you have a colored purge vapor now or does the light serve as an indicator when you activate the purge system?

Wow, that is a cheap alternative to the high priced "LED Purge Kits" that are sold by retailers. I am going to hook that up this weekend.

Exactly, considering how much those lighted purge kits cost, a couple bucks for some Radio Shack leds is a good deal in my opinion.

With all the plastic on the camaros you could coutersink the bulb right by your nitrous tube with no problem. I used the Ghetto fab black tape method just to make sure it would work at first. If you want brighter just use multiple bulbs.

I went to take a picture of the light on the purge last night and i guess i have been doing a little bit more playing than i thought. My bottle was empty. It just looks like a little red light bedind my hood now when i purge it. next time i get a refill i will take one of it. The light on the arming switch looks normal, there is just an led inside of it. I havent installed the spray light in the dash yet, its been a little cool here in florida the last couple of weeks. hopefully it will be up in the 70's this weekend and i can get something done.
