I have a NX wet kit I'm about to install. Do I need anything else safety wise besides what I have?

-basic kit with 12lbs bottle
-going to run 75 shot first (Is 100 shot safe?)
-WOT switch
-bottle pressure gauge

I've read a lot about nitrous but this is my first time having any experience with it. I also don't have the instructions on how to wire it but my buddy says he'll help me. What do I need to watch out for? Do I need to get a purge valve? Should I worry about getting a window switch? Fuel pressure gauge? Bottle heater? When I tap into my fuel for my fuel solanoid where do I do it and how do I do it? I think I can hopefully figure out the rest.

ANY help I would absolutely love you for. I don't want to blow any up or bend any rods.

If there's anything else I'm missing feel free to write me back.

THANK YOU ALL AGAIN!

One more thing. I know a dry kit goes before the MAF. Does the wet go before or after it?

The wet kit goes after the MAF.

Also there should be s "test port" on the fuel rail for the fuel pickup. Purge helps, but not 100% needed,it might help with traction if you dont use a purge.
DEFINATELY get a bottle heater, gotta have consistent pressure for best performance.
Window switch will shut off the spray for when you shift, thats a decision you gotta make.

Call NX up and have them fax you their instructions, they're very helpful.

I'd definitely recommend a window switch having an M6. You miss a shift at WOT and BOOM!

I also recommend a bottle heater, especially if you plan on spraying in cold weather.

Also, a good place to mount the nozzle without any drilling is to remove the IAT sensor, and the nozzle will fit perfectly in that hole. Then you can either relocate the IATS to your intake filter, or just zip-tie it to your nozzle so it's reading near the incoming air (works fine for me).

I'd start with a 75 shot just to make sure you have it working ok. Then go to 100.

Isn't the IAT sensor before the MAF? I could be mistaken though.

NX did fax me their instructions and they were very helpful! I feel stupid for not doing that in the first place.

Where is the best place to get nitrious products? Is the fuel safety cutoff valve worth it? They're only like $60 from what I have seen.

Oh one more thing. When I got the kit used it only had the 75 jets. When I tried to order more all I saw were numbers like .016 or something like that. How do I know what number is equal to HP? Thanks

I consider a window switch a necessity. Nitrous and fuel jet sizes are essentially the same for all systems. The numbers are the diameter of the orifice. IOW, a #16 is 0.016" diameter, a #22 is 0.022, etc. You can drill out your own easily if you have a drill press and a good set of drill bits.

A nice table is at http://www.turbomx5.com/nitro3.htm, I printed it out to refer to.

The IAT sensor is after the MAF sensor. It's the small black cylinder in the curver of the rubber elbow on the passenger side of the engine bay.

Most local speed shops will carry nitrous products. Most of the fittings are interchangable (NOS, NX, NW, etc.), but the solenoids are different. As for online, I can't say, because the place I bought my kit from closed.

I don't have an FPSS. I've heard that they can lose their settings, and cause pulsing of the nitrous. But many people swear by using them.

If you call/email NX, they can tell you what jets to use for a specific HP shot, if you tell them what engine you have (fuel pressure is what makes it different).

The NX kit also comes with a small HP jet card, which NX could probably also fax to you.

I was thinking. Why do I need a window switch if I'm running a WOT switch? Even if I miss a shift my foot would come off the gas and deactivate the nitrous, right?

I have an LS1. When you were talking about the bend you meant an LT1 right?

You can do damage in the time interval before you realize what's going on and react.

How hard is it to wire a window switch? and fuel safety switch? NX's website didn't explain much in their install.

I mounted the bottle today. Got some ply wood at home depot and made a custom little spot for it where one of the back seats are then covered it with a piece of factory carpet I got from the dealer. Looks good

Once again thank you all so much for the help. I'm learning a lot!
