5176 dry kit jet question...

Anyone know off hand what the stock NOS fuel jet is for the 5176 dry kit? I know the NOS jet is a 67. Is the fuel jet a 42? Changed it out at one point and want to put it back in but can't remember what it was. Thanks.

The 5176 does not use a 42 jet on the bypass. The mustang stage 2 kit is a 42 jet but the 5176 is a 59. If you don't belive me call NOS.

Snow, since you work for NOS, you have any take on my lean spike post just a few posts down from this one? Thanks.

Sorry Shaun,
My #5176 kit came with 67 & 42 jets. You could have said.....Mike, I'm a NOS tech and the #5176 is now shipped with the 59 bypass jet instead of the 42.

Mike:

I agree with you.... there appears to be a reall attitude here, that anyone who doesn't agree 100% with "snow" is a real idiot. Hard to believe that NOS would want someone with such an abrasive approach even admitting they work for NOS. Kinda make me want to switch to someone elses solenoids..... .

I had a similar problem in the past, when I posted some info about the parts I bought direct from NOS, and "snow" told me they didn't exist. I know you've had your system for about 5 or 6 years, and had the excellent work you've done with it - particularly the innovative progressive controller - documented in several magazines. And I know I bought one of the first 5176 kits they sold for the LT1, now almost 10 years ago, and spent time in the NOS shop working out issues with the install.....

But we're just ignorant. .

I'm not trying to be rude and if you read the whole post you will see that I tried to answer the question twice. But then I am told I don't know what I'm talking about. And Injuneer I don't know why you have such a proplem with me. And I never said any of you were ignorant but when you give someone wrong information and then accuse me of not knowing what I'm talking about. Whats that say about you?

Fred is to nice to say it, but I am an ******* so i will.

You have no clue at times and your attitude sucks.

I ALSO have had this kit for a while. Last time I called NOS(just after the holley buy out) they had no clue on how to jet or instal the kit even though I had a jetting with it. I had a jetting chart but it was half destroyed from getting wet. This kit is 6-7 years old. Fred and Hotrod Hawk(Ramchargers) helped me a great deal dialing it in.

I called NOS FIVE times and never got any where but sold on changing N2O dealers. I have a new Hogans sitting here with NOS Pro fogger kit on it. I will be selling the Kit and moving to a company that will help me when I need it and not bash every one who has an Idea.

It is Really to bad. I have been running NOS stuff for over 17 Years now. They used to be such a Helpful company with great tech and service.

Just another poor Holley buy out now.....

It's all very simple. There is a polite way to tell someone you think they are wrong, and an offensive way.
And I never said any of you were ignorant but when you give someone wrong information and then accuse me of not knowing what I'm talking about. Whats that say about you?
I don't believe you do know the entire history of the 5176 kit. If you did, you would have said to Mike, "that's outdated, they changed the jets they supply a couple years ago."

NOS techs are notorious for giving out incorrect information. It's been happening for 10 years that I am aware of. Being an employee of NOS, you might want to think about ways to improve the image, rather than making it worse.

You also might want to check a thesaurus and compare the words "uniformed" and "ignorant".
