50 shot problems

I tried putting a 50 dry shot on my 95 stock LT1. The plugs are 1 step colder than stock, I have a Walbro fuel pump that is putting out 43 lbs of pressure, and I have the dry Compucar hose going into the intake before the MAF. I used this 50 shot on my 2000 Neon with no problems at all - in fact, it ran 14.86 @93 mph with an underdrive pulley and Super Turbo muffler. I figured this would be no big deal on a V-8. The car runs great through first gear, and into second but at about 5000 rpms in second, it started to miss badly. I let off of the button and the gas for a bit and then hit the gas for the rest of the pass with no n2o. It's a brand new bottle with about 1000 lbs of pressure. Someone told me that it could actually be freezing the MAF. Another told me that NOS makes some kind of splitter that connects to the vacuum fuel pressure regulator to give more fuel pressure when the button is hit. I don't want to damage the engine so I need a bit of help to find out what may be the problem. Thanks!

well running it through the MAF is the problem. the nos05176 kit i used in my 94 was after the MAF. dry kit.

So the kit has a splitter, one going to the fuel pressure regulator, and the other going to the intake right? It is in essence freezing the MAF isn't it?

yes. the kit also has an inline fuel pump. but it's set for 125. the ecm should pick up from the o2 that you need more fuel for a 50 shot.

Just somethings to consider you didn't mention,
1. stock tachs are junk, dont trust them at all while on the bottle
2. you could be hitting the rev limiter, see above
3. your ignition system needs to be in like new working order when spraying

The LT1 MAF wont pick up the N2O and add the extra fuel like an LS1. You need to get the rest of the kit that raises the fuel pressure.
