150 Wet Shot?

Am I safe to run a TNT Force II Wet Shot jetted at 150HP on a stock motor, with stock fuel pump, stock heads/cam and stock bottom end (car is a 2000 LS1 with 33k on the odo)?

Do I have to run a seperate MSD Box to do my timing retard, or can it be done with LS1Edit? Is it safe to run without the retard? And do I have to worry about pooling and backfires at all?

I'm already planning to run NGK TR6s, a new set of plug wires, a bottle heater, FPSS, WOT swich, MSD Window Switch- is there anything else I need to do to do this safely?

Thanks!

yes.

you dont really need to retard the timing on a mostly stock motor with a relatively small shot. the plugs that you're thinking about will help with the timing a little.

ABSOLUTELY! it can happen, albeit not as much chance if you just keep a few simple things in mind. MAKE sure you have adequate RPM's before engaging (3,k+ is a good #), make sure you dont over rev the motor while its engaged, and make sure you have enough fuel.

that would be fine in my opinion. you can always get more stuff if you want, but there are more than a few people running not even what you have listed there and doing fine.

good luck, jon

Ditto what Jon said, but...

TNT strongly recommends upgrading your fuel pump if you plan to spray the 150 shot. I did. No problems with it what so ever, other than traction of course. And definatly use the TR6s. And dyno tune it to make sure your air/fuel ratio is right.
Happy spraying!

Glad to get some confirmation from a guy who didn't just post about his motor going boom. (j/k jon. )

Any suggestions for aftermarket fuel pumps? And will I need an in-tank unit, or will inline suffice?

I was planning on running it from 3000 (or maybe 2800, but I'm leaning away from that now) to 6300 or so (~200RPM or so before redline). How quickly will the soleniod shut the spray off during a shift? Will I have to worry about bumping the limiter in that split second when the revs jump between shifts?

Thanks for the help man.

I'd also be wary of using the 150-shot on stock fuel pump. When I tried it on my LT1, it seemed to go lean from reading the O2 sensors.

The noids shutting off/turning on is very fast, so don't worry about it hitting the limiter it you have the window switch set to something below it.

Have fun and get ready for an addiction.

Inline? Intank? Any suggestions on manufacturer? Racetronix? Aeroquip?

Basically, if I'm going ot upgrade the fuel pump, I'll only do so to support what the stock internals can handle anyway, so what kind of lph or gph am I looking for? I don't want to blow cash on overkill....
