It has been done, but its a real PITA.

I don't have any pictures of mine in there. I decided it wasn't worth it and put it on top of the gas tank. People will know I am spraying when they see my car run anyway.

I have seen a lot of people put it down in the T-top well, and then just flip that little trunk divider up. That way when the hatch is closed you can't see anything.

Ive been searching off and on for a while and didnt see any good way to mount it in the wheelwell. I want mine mounted there as I still use the 'trunk' back there especially when carying tires. If I had the NOS metal brackets, I might could make it easier on myself, but I have the plastic ones.

I asked this a few months back. It can be done, but the bottle will not be able to be positioned in the optimum angle. If I ever pull the trigger on the nitrous, I'm going to go with a 15# in the well, or a 10# in the spare tire area.

My 15# NX bottle is back in my spare tire well.

Right now, it is a freaking disaster back there. Not only do I have all the regular nitrous stuff, I have my NX bottle heater (the older kind w/ the built in pressure gauge), NX remote opener, wires for my E-cutout go through there, as well as an ***-ton of stereo system wires traveling through that area.

I don't think the angle of my bottle is real bad, but I'm not a fan of how I mounted it (basically, I only use one bracket, and the bottom edge of the bottle sits on the floor of the spare tire well). I don't have any digital pics of it, but I think someone from my car club may have taken some, so I'll have to ask and see if they can send them to me.

It IS a tight fit; VERY tight. Having the bar for my Wolfe 6-point roll-bar going back there doesn't help matters much either. Eventually, I'll make a better bracket setup back there for it to mount to. You CAN make it look nice, but it is some work to do it. It WILL fit, but again, it is a PITA. Just depends on what you want to deal with.

I'm with Joe, I have the 15# bottle, old-style NX heater, a power/ground junction for the n2o system, lots of stereo system wiring inc. a passive crossover... so it can look "junky."

BUT, it can and does work! I had someone make a mount for me for the bottle. Basically you just need a strong piece of metal that will bolt to the spare tire holder. Then drill holes in it for the two bottle brackets and hang the bottle. Works fine. As said, you can't get the bottle exit to point straight down, but it's fairly close...

I was gonna put mine between the 2 back seats. Is this not a good idea or is it fine?

That will work and give you direct access to the bottle to open it manually, no need for a remote opener.

You'll have to make a hole around there though if you want to run at the track for the blow off tube.
It can be done easily though, I have seen people put them there behind the seat, trunk, and tire well.

I have my bottle in the spare tire compartment as well. I have a T-Top car so it was almost a necessity.

I used a piece of 2x6 wood with only one bracket. I laid everything in there to make sure it was going to have a good angle. Then bolted the the bracket to the 2x6 and bolted the 2x6 to the car. With the remote bottlwe opener it was a tight fit. I ran the line inside the car.
