Respectfully passing along this info on a possible free set of top-echelon tires for F-body owners (with flexible schedules) in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

A couple of tastefully modified, private-party owned Z28s/SS and TransAm/Formulas are being sought for video/still photography sessions. The theme is serious American V8 performance machines.

Shooting is expected to take place in Phoenix the week of September 27, 2004 – most likely Wednesday and Thursday. The cars must be street-legal and, of course, near-perfect cosmetically. (black and white are the least desirable colors.) Body mods OK. Owners must be willing to spend at least one day working with the creative team (taking directions from cameramen and driving their own car).

These should be vehicles that can be used on the weekends at the track -– or at least look like they can! :-) A nicely done modifed car is favored over factory stock. Plus-size wheel/tire combinations will happily be considered. If the tires are available in the manufacturer's lineup and your car is in the shoot, you’ll get the tires.

Besides the cars, the “star” will be an ultra performance tire that has been independently evaluated as one of the best performing tires offered to the public. Some vehicles will probably be photographed doing laps (not at racing speeds!) by professional drivers at Firebird.

In exchange for use of the car in the images/videotape and the owners’ cooperation, four tires will be mounted and balanced professionally in advance of the crew's arrival (at no cost to the vehicle owner) and left on the car at the end of the session. Incidentally, also being sought are a Mustang/Cobra 5.0 or 4.6, a Viper, and Corvettes, so if you have a friend or family member with a sweet set of the above wheels, share this with them.

The shoot is for a major company with a legendary reputation in performance and motorsports. Apologize in advance for not stating the company or the tire here, but after the cars are selected and the owners commit to the project, the tire make and model will be divulged. Must stress that this is a case of “if you snooze, you lose.” They are close to drawing up the final list. The vehicle owners will be working with a professional crew and meeting other enthusiasts. Refreshments and meal will be provided. You must be able to set aside a day (possibly starting at 8 a.m.) If weather becomes a factor, we will need to reschedule for the next day.
