Hey guys.. I live in Tampa and they are introducing a new street racing law that makes street racing worse than drunk driving. I dont actively go out and street race but if im approached at a light then yeah I'll run them.. Since California has laws against street racing I was wondering how do the cops enforce it. Do they tow the cars or put you in jail for a year? How well is it enforced?
I just want to know what to expect. I think they will make examples out of people the first few months but i dont know how it will be after that.

It depends on the cop...he might say you have a nice car and let you go or it can get extreme as him arresting you...not sure about them being able to tow your car, its a possibility though.

I heard they tow the car and hold it for a month and you have to pay for each day it's impounded. Depends where you live. Just go to a track. Street racing is for retards. Sure are lots of them out there, especially ricers.

 

Yes out here I dont see many domestic v8's when we go. Mostly civics/integres and so forth. Sometimes you see a nice ferrari or viper, but those are rare.

 

atleast where im at the law is........impound your car for 30 days, $1000 fine, suspended lic for 6mos-1yr and possibly community service.....its no joke...thats the max.....ive seen guys have thier car impounded for 30 days but they drop the violation to a reckless driving.....i got pulled over once and the cop told to go home and if he ever sees my car aound there again its getting impounded and hes like i work these street races every weekend and no i wont forget this car........so i never went back...lol.....i lucked out......i figured im not pushing my luck any further......
