I ran out of luck today. I was leaving work out of the main gate of 32nd street Naval Station. I always stop before the RR crossing guards. But today I stopped directly behind the truck infront of me. I was across one of the tracks (for trains not for trolleys. Well the trolley came and the gates went down. I was passed them but the van next to me wasn't. The gate came down on his roof rack. When he pulled forward the guard snapped off and landed on the back of my car. A bolt in the guard penetrated the roof. The passenger rear quarter panel is dinged and scratched. Their are also scratches on the hatchback.

If I had just stopped before the guards this wouldn't have happened (or left a few minutes earlier, or later)

I will be going to the Dealer's bodyshop on Friday, for a quote. But does anybody know of a good bodyshop in the San Diego area. I will probably need some paint, maybe even repaint the whole car.

BTW the other driver was gone before I could get his information. He wasn't aware the guard hit him, so he said.
