July 21st & 22nd Race Report from Pueblo, CO.
July 21st & 22nd Race Report from Pueblo, CO.
For all the Colorado F-body Racers,
July 21st & 22nd with temps predicted to be in the high 90’s to 100. The ground pounders of NASA RMR converge on PMI in Pueblo, Colorado for another hot weekend of Big Bore Road Racing. What a difference a year makes. Last year at the Pueblo July event we had 3 American Iron cars making the field. While it was an exciting race, it just didn't meet the definition of a thundering pack of V8 pony cars. However this year, American Iron and CMC are taking off in NASA's Rocky Mountain region as a field of 12 cars hit the pavement at Pueblo Motorsports Park for the July 21--22 weekend. Based on the feedback from the show they put on we should have no problem seeing 20+ car fields in 2008.
Among the cars to make the field were newcomers Malcolm Morrison in his AIX prepared Mercury Capri, Bill Harding in his 1998 Mustang Cobra and Matt Ratcliff's vintage prepared 1967 Camaro Z28 which he ran in AI.
Congrats to Rookie Kyle Shaw having just passed the competition school made his CMC racing debut in the KSR Motorsports sponsored 1991 Chevrolet Camaro RS.

Driving the wheels off of his Firebird Schlender catches Coleman again with 1 to go and beats him out of T10 for the lead and his 2nd AI victory of the weekend. In CMC Cody Powell #22 and Chris McComb #35 again dicing back and forth for the entire race, with Dave Fessenden not far behind and Kyle Shaw putting in clean race to get 2 signed off in his provisional book.
