Hello Everyone! My Introduction...

Yay, I finally got my Login fixed

Just wanted to say HI to everyone in the area, and that I'm excited to participate with fellow owners.

I'm really looking forward to participating in some local events. I am so uneducated when it comes to cars, yet I have a passion for them that keeps me stuck to them, so I hope you dont mind the n00bish questions I'm bound to ask.

History:
I've owned a 1972 Chevy Nova 350 2bbl since I can remember. It was my mothers car, and she promised me at 7yrs old that I could have it if I turned 16. This was the car I got my Drivers License in!! Whoot. I've owned it for the past 10 years. Its old, its beat up, its ugly, but its mine, and I've put plenty of *** cars in thier place with it growing up.

I owned a 96 Z28. Black, leather, T-Tops. The car of my dreams. Owned this for 2-3 years. Was forced to trade it along with a Dodge Pickup I owned, for an 02 MonteCarlo SS HP. *shudder* Looks nice, drives comfy, even had seat warmers, but its no hotrod. I had to let this one go also due to continued financial constraints.

But now...I'm back...in full effect!

In April, I picked up the sweetest thing I've ever owned. 2002 Chevy Camaro SS with the GM SLP package on it. Copper with T-Tops.

I cant drive it enough. To work, home, out to the clubs, out of town road trips, the "long" way home on the freeways. Its absolute paradise on wheels.

I only wish I knew more about my car, and what to do with it. I'm hoping here is the place to learn about these things.

If anyone is in the PHX area that can direct me to a shop or person who has the patience to handle a barrage of car related questions, I'd be most appreciative.

I'll try to post my questions in the proper forums. Please take a minute to say Hi!

Re: Hello Everyone! My Introduction...

I went to the Pavillions...once. I dropve my rusted rear fender 72 Nova 350 there, and after circling the event once, I parked out in a dark corner. I felt so bad for my Nova not being all polish and shiny like I promised I'd do to her.

I just signed up over at azfba! I just posted on some of the events going on locally, and to this LV Invasion I read about! How exciting! Its just been me and my SS on our own since April, and I really want to get out and let her play with the other boys and girls out on the road!

I just hope I dont run everyone off with my long winded posts and never ending line of questions about cars.

Its pretty cool how you meet new people with just buying a new car. Just wait and youll be racing at the track with the mod bug bitting wanting you to go faster.

Re: Hello Everyone! My Introduction...

Actually...

I've been down to Firebird 4 or 5 times. SCO Nights so far. My old roommate own a 92 Lotus Esprit SE. Some 260HP "Triple Turbo Charged" (as he calls it) 4 banger. I dont even know if such a term exists.

Now dont get me wrong, I've driven this cramped Britishmobile. I've basically had to teach this guy HOW to drive his own car. It may act like an everyday 4banger on launch, but wait till she warms up and you hear the turbos wind up. BAM...you are now HAULING down the highway.

I convinced him to race down at Firebird, since he could technically compete on SCO nights. He did OK for a guy that spends 2 seconds at the green, and whiplash shifts gears. His best was...oh...14.7 (he'll argue 14.2, but I'd have to see the tape again) at about 101mph.

*I* have not raced this thing, but I have ridden with him, since he can't break the "solo driver speeds" yet. I've not raced my SS yet, but the need for speed is already there. From street racing my Nova on back country roads as a teenager, and light to light racing in my Z28...I've just never done an "official" run.

I think the stage is set tho. A co-worker of his just bought a 1999 Porche Carrera (sp?), and he's getting smack talked again. I think we'll be able to settle this on the track on a Firebird open street drag night in a weekend or two!

LOL Thanks!

I either get an MIB reference, or The Matrix.

I love wearing my suit with the tops off, and looking around at all the staring I get when I step out! Such fun!
