Dyno ?

Wanting some baseline #'s before new mods get done. ? is:

Any SoCal shops let you behind the wheel when doing the pulls, or at least sit shotgun ? I aSSume for Ins./liability reason they can't.

Reason asking, last and only time I had the car dynoed (MMS, many moons ago), dyno operator asked what my "redline" is and I told him don't take it past 5250 rpm, all 3 pulls he went to 5800 rpms. Guy could have easily grenaded my motor, plus after that he stayed in the throttle with a few LS1's while they were audibly detonating.

If any don't, can anyone recommed a shop that will "listen" and are pretty good about monitoring scan tools/guages.

TIA

Re: Dyno ?

Dunno about SoCal, but a few of the local dyno guys here in Vegas let you do it yourself, some for that reason.

If you make it this way, we'll point you in the right direction.

Tuning Technologies in Colton may not let you sit shotgun, but they will
listen to you and do the pulls any way you want. The dyno video is from
their shop.

Re: Dyno ?

Sounds like you just had a bad experience with a moron at the wheel of your car. Sucks that it had to happen.

Most of the time I'd imagine these guys that deal with dynoing cars as their 9 to 5... Are actually pretty good at listening to the cars.

Frank, if you can wait a couple weeks the thirdgen group is going to do a dyno day in November... I have sat shotgun in every one of my car's dyno pulls with no problems, as I'm watching the Diacom/Datamaster readings.
