IT's growing compared to what it was 10 years ago...
As Matt already pointed out, there is a large hispanic community, There are a bunch of Marines, and during the winter it's snowbird heaven.
As far as entertainment, not much to do unless you like to play in nature's sandbox. (Hint miles and miles of beach... but no ocean)
