Post Anyone from Hemet?

Well I just moved to California from Arizona. I haven't been able to find any work in AZ since I got laid off back in November. I got on with the Air Force Reserve at March ARB and moved in with my brother in Temecula. He and his girlfriend are renting a house there and are moving this weekend to Hemet. He bought a house their because it is more affordable. The question I have is there anything to do in Hemet? I've only been there once to check out the house he is buying. It seems like a small town. Are there any good clubs there or will I have to go to Palm Springs? I know I don't miss the AZ weather right now. California weather rules. So all of my fellow F-Body bretheren in Hemet speak up and give me the lowdown on Hemet. Maybe we'll see each other around. Later.

What's up man? Welcome to Hemet/Temecula.. I live on the eastside of Hemet, by the Hemet High School.. And I work in Temecula.

There's 2 other members from Hemet, although most of the time we're usually in the lounge.

As far as F-body clubs: I'd go with the IE F-Body association.. Based in Riverside, not far from March. Better than Palm Springs.

Hemet is growing pretty fast.. Pretty soon we're going to have the Domenigoni Reservoir opening up.. There's going to be alot of recreation involved there..

We have a pretty good sized street racing thing going on. I haven't been in a long time, and now that I sold my Z28 I probably won't be going too much for a while. But if you ever feel like going to that, people start gathering around 9-10pm Saturday nights at the In-N-Out on West Florida. (near Florida and Sanderson)

Tips: Don't speed on the Domenigoni Parkway. It's a perfect place, but the cops LOVE sitting off the road in the dirt. Motorbike officers too. They are funding the new downtown revamping from all those tickets I think. Another well known speed trap is Florida Avenue just west of Sanderson (by Marie Calanders).

BTW: A little trivia.. Parts of the Fast and the Furious was filmed on Domenigoni Parkway.

Working at March, huh? Cool.. What field are you working in? And you've got to let me know when the Open House really is. I keep on getting false alarms.

I'm a C-141 Crew Chief. I got out of active duty in 99. I haven't inprocessed yet so I don't know about the Open House. I should inprocess on Monday if all goes well. I need to start workin asap to get the funds flowing again. My brother is helping me out until I get back on my feet again. He's been a great help! I'm not exactly sure what part of Hemet we are moving to. I know to get there we go down Winchester and turn right on Florida and its way down Florida. I think the name of the street his house is on is called New Chicago. There's a Taco Bell and a Longs on the other side of Florida. Why did you sell your Z? It looked like a nice car. Mine's the same color. How is the night life in Hemet as far as chicks and stuff go? Well see you around. Later, Jason.

So you'll be 452nd AMW

Ahhh yes, New Chicago and Florida.. That's in the Valle Vista area of Hemet. You're on my side of town.

Lots of chicks.. But, there is no clubs or anything around here.. That's all in Moreno Valley/Riverside. The biggest "nightlife" we really have is the races.. That's one thing back in high school people joked about. There's not all that much to do, but street race and screw.. Lots of bars, but I don't drink so I couldn't tell anything about that.

The Soboba Casino has concerts and boxing events, etc quite often.. There's something going on every weekend, and of course the gambling.

The reason I had to sell my car: It was just eating up all my money.. I couldn't afford it anymore. It wasn't treated well by the previous owner, and there was a new suprise it seemed almost every week.. I was paycheck to paycheck, all because of the car that I loved so much.

Then a CHP officer pulled me over on the way to Temecula. Gave me 2 tickets. My insurance doubled. And that was it. Couldn't afford to keep it anymore. I hated letting it go. It was my baby.

I have sworn that I will be back.. I will have another.. This time though, I plan on paying cash for a Z28. And modding it to hell with no payment

Hey, welcome to Hemet. I moved out here about a year and a half ago and still haven't found much to do. It's pretty dull. Nate mentioned you can either race or screw. Racing is something I can't do seeing as I own a friggin Hyundai (hopefully that will change this weekend)and all the chicks around here seem to be married, have kids or both. All the fun is in Riverside or San Diego. Ummm I'm trying to think of stuff to say about Hemet but I am too tired to think. I'll post back later if I think of something.
Talk to you later.

David
