4th gen mechanics in SoCal

I have a 94 Z28 with a blown head gasket. There is coolant inside of the oil.

I'm hoping it's possible to repair it and get it running again and save the motor. If not, I'll take it from there.

Doesn't matter to me if you're a backyard mechanic, or you know of a reputable shop. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

It depends where you live.

Haddad seems to have a good reputation for the Los Angeles Area.
I've had good results from Kevin's Automotive in Costa Mesa if you are closer to Orange County.

San Carlos Auto off of Navajo Road and Lake Murray blvd does great work. They are right off the 125 near grossmont college.

Thanks guys. I am in Orange County, so even anything in the LA/SB county areas aren't a big deal. My AAA only covers me for 100 miles, so as long as it's in that range.

If you are mechanically inclined you should do it yourself man, its not that bad of a job. I did mine about 6 months ago in the garage, took about a week but it was a good learning experience.
