I have had this for about 3 years now, wrapped in a oil soaked bag. The intention was to put it into my truck, never happened.

It was a take out that Nick from Victory Engines got for me off one of his motor builds. It had less then 200 miles on it when I bought it, and assuming it is three years old, that would make it a 2006 model.

That is not this one, I assure you. This is just a basic Z06 cam, no 427's here.

 

A 2006 Z06 came with a 427 in it. It is a Gen IV cam designed to run in a Gen IV block. It can be run in an LS1/LS6 block, but you need to change all the timing components, along with the front timing cover, and extend the wiring harness from the back passenger side of the block to the front drivers side. Generally not worth it for a stock cam.

What your friend is probably looking for is a stock 2002-2004 Z06 cam, it has much more lift and a bit more duration than a stock LS1 cam, and is very popular for turbo builds.

Q, post a pic of the cam, and I can tell if it is a Gen III or Gen IV
