I think my time at gratiot has come to an end. I really think the cops down there are getting a bit too sneaky. I believe its time to revive old highway 1, good ol woodward ave. During the summers, a bunch of imports park at like 12 and woodward. I'm sick of them takin over one of the most famous streets in the US. And the most prominent for muscle cars. I'm going to start cruising down there every friday and saturday there isnt a party anyway, I think we should revive woodward to what it was in the late 60's early 70's. I was down there tonight. Hell i seen a 68 camaro with a 327, a chevy i couldnt identify, and i raced a chevelle SS i think it was a 69, it was a big fastback, with a built 350. Ill have the vid of the chevelle race up when my buddy edits it. Anyway, the cops on gratiot are sick, there is no racing even being thought of on that road. at least 5 cops on gratiot patrolling. On woodward there is maybe 1 cop in downtown birmingham and we can cruise unmolested. I say we revive woodward. I mean if we got half the people from gratiot onto woodward it would be a hell of a time. I seen about 10 people crusing there, including myself. There is like 50 on gratiot. We can even chill in a parkin lot and what not. all in all its just a rant. Im sick of gratiot and the cops. If you want to cruise and be able to go 0-70 safely and race woodward is the place to do it. Besides, many many many more hot chicks on woodward that the uglies that cruise gratiot

 

I agree with that last sentence even though I dont cruise woodward, nothing could be worse then Gratiot girls (and they are prolly richer too, like my grandpa always says, marry a rich girl for love j/k)

ive been up to woodward a few times, but never seems like anyone is there at all (cept for the dreamcruise *drools*)

 

If you start racing on Woodward, there will be just as many cops as there is on Gratiot. In fact, that might be why there is so many cops there already. Find someplace secluded or on the highway. I aint preachin, Lord knows I do my share

 

its not really racing... 0-70 isnt really a race, racing is like 0-110 quarter drag or whatever. If you want real racing you go down to french road, woodward is just a place to cruise... downtown b ham is off the hook in the summer, all these fine women. and they all think the guys with hondas that roll through are the fastest thing ever... time to change that

 

cruising woodward would be better just south of b-ham there since everyone hangs out there anyway. It's closer to my house anyway and more cool places to hang out

 

I was at Crash-it this saturday and I raced a few people on the road, nothing major. Some guy in a blown 4.6L stang gave it the gas near me...and in front of a cop, before I knew it i gave it some gas then let off once I saw the cherries come on. Thank god he didn't pull me over, that would not have been fun. I saw about 5 others get rolled too, gatiot has sooooo many cops it's crazy! I went to woodward sunday afternoon and no one was there

0-70 is still a race. And the ticket will still be the same.
Sunshine is right No matter where you go to race the heat will follow it's only a matter of time.
Woodward was the hot spot for a long tome untill the cities all got together to get rid of the cruisers. Then Telegraph and Gratiot came into thier own.

 

i never understood why hall rd doesn't have anything going on near utica area. 4 lanes, lit up, plenty of parking and the rest.

 

French road is at 6 mile and van dyke , there are no cops, cuz detroit cops have to worry about more violent things than street racing. and woodward has barely any cops. And yes im a diehard anyway, just south of B ham is great, woodward is a great spot. Race along that huge cemetary, no people, no parked cars. pretty safe. And usually no tickets for muscle on woodward, i have a story for you. Anyway, last year about 2 weeks before the dream cruise we were in my buddies 98 TA, and he was following his dad, in his 68 BB firebird convertable. anyway, we get to a light at 13 and woodward, a honda civic pulls between the firebird and the TA, when the light goes, they all hammer it, the firebird and ta spin and light the **** outta the civic. then a cop flys up behind them, blip the lights and pull over all 3 of them. The cop says, "what ya runnin under there" to my buddies TA, and hes like stock LS1 with a catback and intake, the cop said "thats nice soundin." then the cop walks over to the firebird, "really nice car you got there, u got a big block?" friends dad "yeah, built 427" then he walks over to the civic. "liscense and registration." I **** you not. the cop just let the cars go cept for the civic. it was hilarious

 

wayyyy too much traffic on the weekends. And worst of all, its 90% soccer moms doing their power-shopping.

 

no more dangerous then gratiot......woodward's definately nicer though.

 

gratiot is for high school punks who don't know how to drive. yeah it's fun to mess with them some but the cops are on them like they're parents should be, heck the parents bought most of them they're car anyway! lol.

i'd be up for woodward once the car's back together, i've got too many points to be near gratiot. as for cops getting sneaky, last year i noticed they had cops on foot with radios a few blocks down from white castle reporting cars to the cops with wheels. but most of that bs is between 10 and 12 mile.

i thought it was funny that the kids just do this 2 mile loop bumper to bumper. what's the word cruise mean anyway?! lol try going for a drive and spreading apart!

I want to go down to woodward this friday night. Its supposed to be nice, I'll be parked at the firestone store. Me and my buddy joe, he has a black TA and maybe my buddy with a white lt1 will be down there. I just want woodward to come back, better looking girls, more places to hang, less cops, and much more nostalgic. anyway this friday there will be 3 of us down there just chillin in a parkin lot. If that gets boring we'll just head up into downtown birmingham on old woodward and park and chil there. Just depends on how much action we get/see.
