Re: Windsor = Exhaust

What are your goals for the car and what are your future mods? This will play a key roll in determining what exhaust to go with. If you want to go with an aggressive setup like heads/cam, long tubes are the way to go but if you want to take the bolt on road Mac mids might be better.

If your only goal is to make it sound better (more aggresive) and gain a few ponies for the track, my suggestion is to just go with an electric cutout.

Get me some more info and myself or a couple of the local LT1 guys can get you going in the right direction.

Re: Windsor = Exhaust

Thanks,
I think an electric cutout would be too much noise, (I don't know though).
I am just looking to get a good sound and a couple of extra horses.
My mods are near none, I just have the CAI, I haven't even done the TB mod yet.
Any help would be awesome,
Thanks again

Re: Windsor = Exhaust

Go to this site and have a listen to see what kind of sound you like. I know they are LS1 cars but it will give you an idea of what your goal is. http://dodds.cc/chad/garage/z28/ls1_sounds/
Are you looking to do headers, y-pipe, catback or just a catback or just a muffler?

Re: Windsor = Exhaust

I think the magnaflow and the dynomouth.
But mostly I have a limited cash flow.
I will go from the cat back, or can I just change the muffler and get good sound and a little horse?

Thanks

Re: Windsor = Exhaust

I have the MagnaFlow and love it. Its tame at idle with a hint of deep resonance but when you get on it, it really roars.
A catback might give you a few extra horse but don't expect much. Have a look on the boards there are usually used catbacks for sale cheap. I while PM you a link to a Canadian distributor (he isn't a sponsor so I can't post the link publically). His prices are as good or better than any in the US and you save the PST and there are no brokerage fees.
