Question Whats the best way to find exhaust leak?

What's the easiest way to find an exhaust leak? I I put headers on my car and now there is an exhaust leak on the driver side. I put new gaskets between the headers and y-pipe and retorqued all of the bolts, but I still have the leak. HELP! I want to bring it to M& but not with the way it sounds now!

Take the end of a stethescope and listen. It's surprisingly fool proof.

You might also be able to see a black carbon buildup around where the leak is. I know with the Y-pipe that Modern Musclecar put on my car there were a lot of pin hole leaks and around each one of them there was some black exhaust buildup.

Thanks guys, I borrowed a stethescope from work for finding bad bearings and I'll use that also. I looked for the carbon build up, but so far I found nothing. I'll get out my halogens for a better look though.
