What do you guys think of this suicide machine

My 98 Yamaha Warrior is a piece of crap, well the engine at least, but I love the way a warrior rides compared to several other quads (predator, raptor, banshee...) So...I just purchased off Ebay, the engine out of a 1993 Honda CBR600F2 complete with wiring and radiator for $250.

First of all how crazy do you think I am, BTW Honda rated it at 79hp stock, and it will have exhaust and jetting. Revs to close to 13k I believe.

Second anybody that for some reason has any experience with this give some pointers or something. I have all the tools to make this work, mainly a nice TIG welder so dont worry about that.

Basically what do you think?

I have seen many quads up at silver lake with 4 cylinder engines most of which have extended swing arms and go like stink up the hill and in a straight line but forget about riding in the woods and in tight trails.

I just sold a Banshee that I built up and it got to the point it wasnt any fun in the trails anymore just the dunes and drags.

Good luck and post pics when you are done.

I saw a 230 quad sport with a 600 in it. It was crazy. They were having clutch problem though that they could not figure out.

pffft. all quads should come with 79hp from the factory

just curious, why are you using a honda engine in a yamaha? Are you admitting they are that much better? Just saying, I wouldve looked for a comparable yamaha engine if I were putting it in a yamaha four wheeler. ...yea I know, you got a deal on it. I need to take the time to find a deal on something like that for my go-kart.

Oh yeah, as long as it weighs less than 500lbs, Ill admit that Hondas cant be beat, whether its a dirtbike, quad, small engine like lawn mower whatever. I hate the yamaha engine that is in this thing now, it is broken much more often than it runs. I dont know how yamahas other stuff is like street bikes, I do know that their R1 and R6 are killer machines, but they are also newer machines so.... But im not a diehard red or blue fan, I just have fun on them. I just recently got into dirtbikes and have been riding my buddies 2001 CR250 and thats a badass bike, its the fastest thing Ive ever ridden (car or anything).

But anyway, this deal just came down to I wanted a new engine and something more powerful, and banshee engines are expensive, so are say predator engines or even 400ex engines, so this was in my price range and is wicked powerful.

I have already extended my swingarm +3", a homemade piece, and I think I am going to rebuild it out of chromemoly to save some weight.

I know im not totally crazy because I had a magazine at one time with sevaraly dune quads with over liter engines in them, but they are like you said stretched way out and go in a straight line. I want this to still be able to jump smaller 40ft table tops and stuff, but Im not any more extreme than that, trail riding, just recreational riding which I think I should still be able to do.

Re: What do you guys think of this suicide machine

Sure, it wont be free, but I could sell it to you cheap, it doesnt run right now. I dont understand why, cuz its getting fuel and spark, so the timing is obviously off somehow, I didnt even bother messing with it though since I hate it. The transmission is in perfect condition shifts every time, every once in awhile youll get a false neutral between 1/2 when shifting if you dont kick it hard. Other than that its really good, clutch is pretty new as well. You will need the whole wiring harness, CDI, and voltage regulator though. The CDI is basically brand new at $300. So I dunno, would you give me $250 for everything you need? Ill include the header pipe and carb as well (just rebuilt and homejetted(drilled jet)) Also the airbox and KN filter. The pipe is homemade believe it or not, and sounds pretty badass, i just took a pipe from the header to the muffler from the old white bros muffler and welded up a flowmaster style muffler to the end of it.

Since youre close there wouldnt be any shipping involved, you could either come and get it or I could probly bring it up sometime. Let me know.
