Views on new Mustang and Vette

Just wondering what you guys think of the new 2005 Mustangs and Vettes????
Personally I love corvettes and camaros but the new Mustang just looks awesome. I really like the styling and how it resembles the older ones. I would really want to get one if not for the lack of power. (maybe get one in the far future for a daily driver because they are more comfortable than vettes, or when they come out with the Cobra version)
The new corvettes look nice but not too much different. The frame and suspension is the same (frame length is slightly different). I would prefer flip up headlights but I understand the weight savings fo the fixed lights. One huge plus is the power 400 hp 400 ft/lb on the base model. I also like the drilled rotors on the Z51 package.
Basically I think I would rather get a used C5 and modify it (best bang for the buck) but thats just my opinion.
I like the power of the new vettes and I love the looks of the new Mustangs. I can only dream of a owning a new vette, and try to make mine just as fast . Too bad the general has no camaro concepts.

Me? I am perfectly Happy with my fox as well but the new Mustang I think looks Bada$$ on the outside but as far as interior goes,Cheap garbage. The vette. Thats just flat out Awesome I will miss the Flip ups but oh well.A couple Bad a$$es you forgot to bring up are the GT and the new Cobra. And as far as underpowered Mustangs due to the Modular motor, I got a tour of Fords Experimental Garage about a month ago and they had 3 or 4, 05 Mustangs there with the 5.4 3 valve in it.They said that it is going to be an option in late 05 early 06.They were about 99% sure of that.

The 3rd valve helps in letting more fuel and air in. The Ferrari 355 is a 5 valve engine.

I personally think that the New Mustang looks much more like a luxury car than it's predecessors did, lost some sportiness. The new vette looks IMO fairly similar to the C5's body lines except of course for the headlights and new front fascia.

The new Mustang looks like total *** IMO. The new Corvette I like, but haven't seen one yet in person.

Not a huge cosmetic change in the Vette. I like the new headlights, and I'm looking forward to seing more on the performance the new motor puts out.

I didn't forget about the Ford GT or the Cobra, I think the Cobra is ugly and I doubt that concept will make it to production and as far as the Ford GT it looks like it did back in the day, I like the 500 hp but thats not hard with a supercharger plus I doubt I will ever see a limited production GT $150k driving on the road so I like to ctritique the cars that I will actually be able to see/drive.
I think I will always like vettes, especially the power.

I actually kind of like the quirky looks of the Shelby Cobra especially after I saw the program about it on TV. It's growing on me.

I think Ford had better gear up for the new Mustang. I bet they sell 200,000 a year.
And you can finally get a 400 hp auto. vette. Too bad John Lingenfelter isnt around to see the new C6 and to disect the new LS2 engine to find out how to make it faster.

I AGREE. A Lingenfelter twin turbo C6 vette would be sweet. RIP

I liked both. Although the norm lately has been "retro everything" I'm not sure this is the way to go. Yea all the retro cars are cool but if we keep dwelling on the past for every new design that comes out, how the heck are we supposed to identify this era? What, is this the era in which we look back on other era's?

I do like the cars though, love the new vette, and like the styling of the mustang, not too crazy about the mustang interior, again going back to the retro thing. Instead of making the dash flat and nasty, how about we use all that technology we have and use it to develop better ergonomics.

On another note, I took a good look at the GTO and over all I like it. Only issue is the shifter on the six speed was rubbery. Even worse than my car was stock and that was bad. An aftermarket shifter would be a must.

Also really liked the SRT-10 Ram. DCX did a great job with the shifter, and its NOT big and dorky as most would expect a manual trans truck to be. The throw on the hurst was not that bad at all and the placement was perfect. Only probelem is the 9/14 gas milage and the 45k sticker. ohwell.

Another quirk, I sort of liked the new VW suv, the Taureg or something. Good size, exellent interior and ergonomics, adjustable ride, and is supposed to be pretty good off road. Available v8 also. too bad the v6 is 45k and the loaded v8 is around 54ish. another owhell.

Overall good show.
