Used car trailers?

I'm in the market for a 18-20' open deck trailer to tow my Firebird to out of town road courses. Anyone know of someone who wants to sell theirs or where a good place to find ads for them is?

I haven't seen a RV trader on the rack before. I'll look today. I've also found a place called Trailer Depot in Pontiac near Telegraph and Dixie Hwy and plan to visit them this week.

Chris,

Yes, I went to Mid-Ohio for one day on Friday. It rained some, but a lot of my track time was in the dry. The miserable part was when I was towing the car back home (using a friend's trailer) and ran into the sleet. Jeez, it's April for God's sake. It took me about 1.5 hours to get the car off the trailer Sat. morning. Everything was frozen under a sheet of ice.

Did my first dyno pull on my car at Mid-Ohio. It got 278 RWHP and 318 RWTQ. Considering it just has a cold air intake, computer reprogram, downpipe, and cat-back, that seems about right to me. I need about 330 RWHP to be competitive in American Iron though. Later this year I'll most likely rebuild the engine and lightly port the heads and change the cam, as well as install some Dynatech headers. That should put me there.

i spent alot of time looking for them before i bought my enclosed and the best places i found them were usually in the heavy equpment autotrader sections......

the problem with them is that once they are posted if they are priced right they tend to go very fast. i know back in november there were alot of open trailers over at autotrader.com and i caught a few here and there in the trading times. definately alot easier then finding enclosed versions, but still rare.

as far as price i'd say anywhere from 800-2,000 depending on the actual size, brand, and condition. although you can pick most of them up new for 3-4,000 as well. i've seen some go as low as 500 when people really need money.

just keep your eye out and if your up on things you'll find one.
