Who can tune my odb2 quickly for a good price? I'd like something local, I don't want to send it out to Ion if I don't have to.
I hear bad things about C.A.R.S so is there anything else?

Whoever told you bad things about C.A.R.S. is way off base. Sean tuned my car after I had tried two other tuners. Sean picked me up some nice RWHP and RWTQ over the other tuners I tried. It runs better now than it ever has before.

Were they complaining about the HP numbers that Sean got them? Seans Mustang Dyno is stingy when comparing to other dynos. You can't look at this to figure out if you have received a good tune.
Example: My car put down 385 RWHP on another companies Mustang Dyno. On Seans it only put down 360 RWHP. So, I decided to go back to a place that I had my car on the dyno before and after my tune that got me 385 RWHP. Then took it to the same dyno after Sean had tuned it. This is a Dyno Jet so the numbers will be higher than on a Mustang Dyno. It still worked as a great control to see what I was picking up after a tune was done on my car.
1. Before the 385RWHP tune my car put down 380 on the Dyno Jet. After the tune went back to the Dyno Jet and put down 400RWHP on the same Dyno Jet. So, with this tune I picked up about 20RWHP. The car still had a idle problem and shift problem.
2. I took the car to Sean at C.A.R.S. and had the idle and shift issue fixed along with having him look at my tune. He said he saw some areas that were out of wack in the previous tune. I asked him to tune my car and he got me 360 RWHP on his Mustang Dyno. The car felt really strong after the tune. I went back to the Dyno Jet that I used as a control and my car put down about 430RWHP. So, I picked up another 30RWHP with Seans tune.
I have sent others to Sean and they have also been very happy with their tunes.
I hope this email makes sense.

I also use sean for my tunes, and my customers (even my dad
) he's doin one for one of my customers monday morning.
didnt I give you LJ's phone # before? he doesnt have a dyno, but does lots of LT1's and will go to the track with you and tune there (for the right amount of money ofcourse)

Like they say, you can't please 100% of people all the time. Any shop will have their problem cases where customers weren't happy. Hell, nobodys perfect. But i'll tell you one thing, i wouldn't hesitate to send anything to CARS. Sean knows his stuff for sure. I'm going to have him tune my work truck soon for towing/economy. I'll let you know how that goes... but i have absolutely no doubts.
I sent it to Ion at madz28 the other day. It should be here by Saturday or Monday at the latest.
The only local guy wanted $350 to tune it, but if I were to spend that kinda money I'd put it on a dyno.
I had too many people message me about Sean at CARS. I've never heard a single complain about Ion, and he's tuned hundreds of these cars.
The complaints weren't about dyno HP numbers. It was just people saying they had bad tunes and it cost them a lot of money to pay other people to fix it.
That's great that Sean did good on your cars, but I don't wanna be one of the unlucky ones. I'm sure I'm in good hands with Ion. I'll let you all know how the tune works out. I'm gonna try to get it on a dyno before the end of the year.

Good luck with your tune. Let us know how it goes. All I can say is there is no substitute for having the car dyno or street tuned. I know it is more expensive but you get what you pay for.
Example: When I had my car tuned (both places) my car would lose power if you set the timing where most people would assume the timing table to be. If I would have had the mail order tune done the timing would have robbed me of about 30 RWHP.
Either way, good luck. I would just recommend getting it dyno tuned or street tuned at some point to make sure you are not leaving power on the table.
Good Luck,
Bill

the other option would have been to do what I did for my last customer. I took his pcm in to sean and had him do a quick reflash to get a baseline so it would run on the SVO 42lbers and the heads/cam. that allowed me to drive it around and make sure things were good to go before takign it to him for the real deal
