The truth about late model LS1 F bodies

Awesome performance for the buck, but insurance cost of a Corvette and resale value of a Dodge.

There have been guys that have traded up to a 'vette that said their ins. was less than for their f-body

that's likely due to the fact that more teenagers like me have f-bodies than vettes. u tell me who u'd trust more, an older man with a family and a career in a vette or a highschool/college kid in a modded f-bod that thinks he's the sht

not saying this is the way every vette/f-bod owner is, but that's what the insurance companies see

Insurance is bad enough for me with just a LT1 f-body... haha in drivers training, one of our assignments was to purchase our dream car, and then get it insured. I 'bought' a 98 Corvette Coupe.... my insurance qoute was $9800 CDN a year! Im 19btw!

cant compare out cars to a dodge though..... thats just not right!

crazy!

That's crazy, $9800cdn!!! I pay like 1200cdn a year for my 97 WS6! For you American guys, that's like $750-850 U.S. I think that's pretty cheap! BTW, I'm 20!

Well, Viper maybe. The Dodge reference is just referring to depreciation. Chrysler and Dodge products have been known for low resale (high depreciation) for 30 years now.

Jack,

You're right. But, I bought my 95 to satisfy my mid-life crisis with the full knowledge and understanding of insurance cost and resale value. I knew that I was going to keep my Camaro until one of us couldn't move anymore.

I thought I'd keep my 98 TA forever, but an 02 Hawk just showed up in the paper. Damm, I gonna have to quit reading the classifieds.
