Trickflow Heads for LT1's?
Trickflow Heads for LT1's?
I just read an article in High Performance Pontiac Magazine about TF LT1 heads.
These heads were(are) prototypes and installed at Detroit Speedworks.
I was wondering if anyone here knew the car they went on? and how they are preforming?
These heads have 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves, they also feature larger ports(exact measurement N/A possibly 195cc) and combustion area(61cc)
I went to there website http://www.trickflow.com/index.htm
and could not find them

You think that you are so smart cause you can read ah! just kidding around. I know that hooked on phonix worked for you, because you are up to 3 books a day
So Tom really , what's with the intrest in the heads? Are these for the N.O.S set-up to come?
Talk to you later

A little more HP is a good thing, just doing a little research
I got my answer through email
Heads and cam LT1's have run 11's,if you don't need to spray to get there(11's),you can run 10's with it(juiced)

The heads shown in the article were indeed prototypes, as we sent a laundry list of notes back to TFS for mild changes before they were to go into production. Nothing major, mostly tolerancing, placement of holes, and thread sizes on LT1 vs. SBC. The reason the test vehicle wasn't really mentioned in the article is beacuse it was a 95 Corvette with a Vortech S-trim. Since it was a Pontiac magazine, they didn't feel it necessary to cover the vette end of things. Rest assured that 99% of the operation is interchangable to the Pontiac LT1 F-car.
Keep in mind that these heads have larger combustion chambers in order to keep from shrouding the larger valves. Therefore, they're really best suited to either blown or stroker applications where adding a bit of chamber volume is either desired or can be overcome by piston choice. The intake ports are also significantly larger than stock, meaning using them with a stock cam and N/A car would probably not yield stunning results. Overall, a decent head, but I would still get mine ported if they were going on a higher output engine.

Thanks for your input Greg,I think I might just get the stock heads ported and add a cam maybe CC305 or 306
Here is a link to another thread on TFS heads although these appear to be all out race type one offs!

Tom why not use the AFR 190 LT1 heads? From what I have read these are the best flowing in the class. The 195 flow about the same just the intake ports are a little larger at the opening. I like the cc306 cam myself. This combo will get you in the 11s I would think with a good ported intake and some LT's.

Yea ive read up on them
They seem really good in the flow department! But they dont seem to run well with stock LT1 350's
But alas if you have a few mods like "I", I would go for it!!
