tri-cities body shops?

hey ive been doing some searching and cant seem to find anything. im looking for any body shops in the tri-cities area (preferably in saginaw) that do good work. i need my front bumper cover replaced/repainted. got a quote from a dealer for $467.00 for just paint and labor because they wanted $285.00 for the bumper cover and i know ive seen new aftermarket ones for cheaper than that. i was thinking that might be a bit steep for just labor or no? i was hoping for recommendations to a body shop that will do good work and not rip me off. any ideas? also does anyone know where i can get the bumper cover from for cheap?

thanks a lot,
adam

Re: tri-cities body shops?

hey, thanks a lot for the reply. i just got back from mid-state and i think im going to go with them when i get the work done. i havent been out to gary's yet, but the quote i got was from draper. i think part of what makes me want to go with mid-state was the fact that he has two camaros outside haha. mid-state quoted me $300 to patch and repaint my bumper cover, which is a lot better than the $467 labor plus $285 parts that draper quoted me.

thanks again!

Do NOT go to Drapers. I needed my front bumper painted, as well as my front quarterpanel and they didn't match the paint. I have a white car, so it should have been easy. They ended up having to paint the whole front of my car and blend into the doors to get the color to look right. The paint looks great now, but my paint was already in perfect shape, and I wanted to keep the original GM paint finish on it.

I need a hood painted, and I think I'm just going to call around. I think there is a place on Bay Rd. called Paint Bull that I've talked to. They quoted me $200 to paint my new SS hood.

Actually Draper is pretty good, just depends on who ya talk to.

Go to Garys Auto Body, and ask for Doug. Tell him Quentin from Weller sent you. He will take good care of you.

Understood. I'm sure not all people get the same results.

When they can't match factory white, I was pretty upset. I mean, it wasn't even close. I won't be going to them again, even though they were very nice to me They just weren't very good. My hood also has lots of fine swirls, under the clear coat, with not way to remove them. It doesn't matter though, since I am putting on a SS hood, but it still bothers me once in a while.
