Transmission Heads South on the way home

Well I drove all the way down to APE and had a great time meeting everyone and watching everyone dyno. Its about 152 miles one way for me to come down. 1 mile from my exit on the way home 3rd gear and above headed south in my tranny. So much for the factory set up.
Thank god he was with me and it went out just a couple miles from home.

Now I need options. Who can do rebuilds that make the tranny stronger the the factory setup. Keeps it very streetable. I don't want really loud gears that wine when I drive around town. Local shop says they can do it for $1100.00 Parts and labor, all heavy duty stuff with a shift kit.

Input please?

Dam, last week I could have set you up with a FLP level 4 for $1500. Call Greg at Speedworks, he was just mentioning today about his tranny doing up one similar to the FLP, in the $1200 range.

If you are looking for something cheaper, I know a few guys that can rebuild it for $200 range, that's for labor. You provide the parts.

The 4L60 is just not going to hold up to much power, unless it is professionally built, and even then, there is a limit. Good luck.
