Tranny problems

I need to know whats wrong with my trans??

When I first start my car it runs fine but after a couple of minutes it wont go into gear and when it does it will rev up to about 5000 r.p.m.'s and I will only be doin about 15 m.p.h. and It will have trouble shifting into second.

I checked the tranny fluid and its not burnt at all so i am clueless.

And when it starts messing up it makes a weird sound it is kind of like a winding sound and a tinging sound together.

The thing I dont get is none of this started untill after I put a new cap and rotor on my car.

Is it possible I might have unplugged something or could the problem be more serious??

If some one knows please tell me so I can fix the problem myselfI dont want to have to take it to a transe shop and pay out my @ss for something that will be simple to fix!!!

I posted this in the f-body lounge but i want to post it here because I need to know if there is any local good transe guys in here or if anybody knows of one??

And by local I mean south east mich. my car is messed up so I cant drive it to far!!

Thanks

~Joe

Sounds like you blew the torque converter and/or the front pump. When one goes the other usually does too. The bad part about a bad TC is that all the parts/shavings get passed thru the rest of the trans.

Time for a rebuild....

Could be the converter. If it is I have a stock one you can have for $50.00. Call Richard Bewick. He built my trans and is very good. If he says it is the converter call me if you want my old one. I installed a 2400 stall in my car. The old one worked just went bigger stall. Richards # is248 828/7048. My # is 586 558/6694. My name is Chris Jackson. I called Richard and he said it sounds like your filter may be plugged. Give him a call and tell him I sent you. He a good guy.
