Post Stanton Midnight Madness, Fri. night!!

Ok, the forcast I just saw, says rain for Sat & Sun. Sorry to break the news to ya..

The good news is that Stanton is having racing until 12:00. Just a hunch, but the weather gets cool that late, & I can see some good times coming.

I didn't get the flyer, Derty was telling me about it, so he can give the times. I believe it is 7:00 to 12:00PM. Steve, can you confirm that it is this Fri, and give the gate time?

Anyone else going? As long as tuning goes well Thurs., I'll be there.

So here's the details for Midnight Madness.

The Mid Michigan Motorplex hosted its first ever Midnight Madness event Friday night August 2nd. Nearly 200 drivers showed up and had a great time running up and down the 1/4 mile with awards going to the fastest street legal car (Dave Hekhuis), the fastest street legal motorcycle (Shawn Sedlow), the fastest quad, the fastest snowmobile (Randy Johns), and the fastest import (Mong Oum). Additional Midnight Madness events have been added for Friday night August 30th and Friday night October 4th. Once again gates will open at 7 pm with time trials going until 12 midnight. Tell your friends to get out to the track with you. $15 to race or only $7 to watch. Kids 10 and under are free.

The temps should get into the high 50's with a mild cross wind late at night. But one thing I found at Milan last night was the humidity and dew point went through the roof when the temp dropped. I had to run with my defroster on at the end of one run. I could barely see the end of the track (doh!) as the water condensed so fast on my windshield. Sorry, a little meterology 101 there!

With some luck the big tires will be here and with some hook (which Stanton always has!) we're going to have a damn good time!!

Good luck on the tuning Harold, I'm anxious as hell to see how that thing moves down the track!

Hmmmmmmm. . . I got nothing to do on Friday night yet. Any other West-siders want to head up there?

Steve, I could not get into the pics, as I do not have win zip on the big computer. Can I reload the trail verson without deleting the files that I already have? If you can, please transfer them onto disk for me, & bring with you Fri? Thanks.

I got some from when I did the rear, that turned out great. Fuji disposable, from Wal Mart. I have them on disk. I'll have to update my hotmail picture site.

Car is on the trailer, everything is ready to go tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait to see what it will do also. I'll find out soon. Only weak point now, seems to be the tranny. I'm thinking 400T with GV-OD. No worries.

Trial version should work fine. But I'll burn them to CD and bring it. That won't hurt the files at all.

I'm going to see if I can have a couple people come along to do some video too! I'll know more tomorrow on that.

Don't even start talking about the tranny. That's the one thing that hasn't broke on me yet. For crying out loud, I broke my line lock last night. How in the hell do you break a line lock? WTF!!!!

Good luck on your tuning today.Hopefully you'll be able to unleash the beast Fri.I raced for the first time at night out here at Firebird last Friday. It's definetly different. But it is pretty cool.Just some forewarning the disposables don't take good pics after dark. All my pics from Friday turned out Sh!tty. Good luck.

Hmmm I may do some tuning this week and see if I can scratch off a mid 13 or lower. I only have .2 to get to a 13.5 TrouserSnake, wanna run em again? I might try to pick up a side job so I can go.

We'll see!

Ill be there but it will be on the bike instead of the car.
I went to the last one with the car and was told to slow down because of no roll bar or fire jacket, so beware all you rule breakers they are watching now.
