dont you have a chop saw? those work wonders for wht your doin and give nice squaire cuts. you must have a large gas tank on your mig huh? cant wait to see the final product. we still need to line them up though now that you'll have some nice drag tires.

It's about $140 in materials and 12 hours of labor. Lots of cutoff wheel action. I also had to shell out $55 for more argon/CO2 shielding gas.
What did you do? Get one of those dinky bottles? I haven't shanged mine yet and I've had my welder for 2 years. Are you shutting the gas bottle valve after you're done welding for the day?

I do shut off the tank, but I dont know if it's a small tank or not. It's about 2 1/2 feet tall, weighs about 50 pounds when filled. It's bigger than my toteweld oxygen tank, and I probably got 4 or 6 hours of welding time out of this tank. I'm running it at the recommended flow rate, and I've used about six or seven pounds of weld wire from the spool. I did a lot of fixing out at the farm this last summer: Tractor, farm implements, barn door, etcetera.

Two years on the same tank, huh? :hmm:

Chris, I'll certainly line it up with you once I've got it sorted out. I hope to get it over to CARS this spring to get the EFI tune nailed down, and I wont be using the nitrous until I get a few more electronic sensors online, namely nitrous and fuel pressure. I want to log that information for each run to ensure I dont run into trouble. I can't afford a meltdown! Even without nitrous, it still ought to be fun to jump it down the track next to you!

No I see, Dan is using the smallest bottle like I have. Al, I think the bottle you have is the biggest one you can get unless it's for a business. Take pics of your tanks. Here's mine: http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q.../2006_2207.jpg

Just curious. I cant wait for F'n spring already. gosh!

I have a 230/236 112 LSA, .550" lift, I think. It's in a Minirammed 385 with AFR195 heads, and 30 lb injectors that are fired by a FAST XFI ECM. Last I checked I was running at 85% duty cycle at WOT. I might have to upgrade to the next size injector. Did you notice that our SIGs show us as running within a quarter mile per hour of each other? It ought to be close enough to put grins on everyone's faces!

Now, what I need is a line for a local shop that does ceramic thermal barrier coatings:

It's almost ready to mount. Just need to fabricate and weld a little tab onto the merge collector for the exhaust hanger.

After that, it's time to button up the engine, verify cam timing, then tidy up the wiring harness!

damn, thats alot of welds! but it looks great. I know Ive seen on here where someone posted a local place that can do that.

mine also has 30lb inj.s, but never paid attention to the duty cycle yet. figured it was OK. guess I better look.

even if we had exactly the same dyno graphs, your gonna have a hard time matching my ET. stalled auto's just get off the line easier. but, once you get the hang of launching that sucker, your mph will be higher then mine. it will be an interesting race.

we can have a little 3 way race. how bout you and kevin race, and I'll race the winner? what gearing do you two fella's have? I got 3:73's for now. not sure how much longer they goin to last though. both 10bolts? kev you got some good tires? we need to do this.

When found in those situations, I usually say, "Let's race a mile and see who's out front."

I'm game
3 rules
1. Full exhaust ( cut out is fine)
2. NA runs

That ought to work, Kev--
I dont mind buying icecream-- Too bad I can't enter the minivan for this race, I was cutting .080 to .032 reaction times with that at M11-- Hitting within .050 of the dial-in too. I would've made the fifth round had it not been for that -.014 breakout...

I'm not nearly as consistent with the manual: I need to re-learn how to do it.
