So who is working on their cars this week??
Good, now I feel less lonely!
Tonight I got the wiring in for the reverse lockout solenoid. The engine is pre-lubed, and I need to redo the melted wiring from summer of 2005. Those headers must've got hot because all that new parts-store split tubing turned to melted goo. I need to crack it off the wires and redo the harness.
I might need some help, Joe! You got some good quality split tubing that wont vaporize at the sight of infrared?

I have some high temp convolute tubing (split tubing) and some reflective tape that you should use on it. You also need high temp wire, so what colors, lengths, and AWG's do you need?
The wires are already high-temp as they are a mixture of OEM and FAST XFI. I'll measure the split tubing needs and get back to you.
SSpdmn, I am going to be fabricating my own Y-pipe from scratch in a few weeks. By the time I'm done, I ought to be pretty good. This Millermatic 175 makes even clumsy weldors like me look good. I'm glad I bought it!

Tell you what, I need to rewire the FAST XFI harness since it was a universal TPI harness with wires that are too short in places and way too long in others. I'll look and see if perhaps you and I can get something going in late February. I want to get this thing to the dyno shop in March for tuning so that we can play with it at Gingerman on April 30th. I want to tidy everything up under the hood again like it was when I had the DFI in there.
If anyone is interested, there is a group over at www.3ballsracing.com who are renting the track on the 30th of april. It's $140 for the day, and you need to preregister on their website to secure a spot.
I'm pretty sure that I'm going to go, mostly to sort out the bugs. I've had some issues with suspension and brakes that I didnt like last time I was out and I want to see if the new changes made any difference.
[bitch]Awww nuts. It's a monday, a school day, and my wife is working that day. Plus there is evening stuff that I need to take the kids for. This is going to make it hard.... [/bitch]

first M6 car in the 9's, that later switched to an auto to go faster.
what do you got cooking over there? swapping in a th400 I presume? you got some power upgrades comeing, or just done with trying to make the M6reliable? you ever come out to milan to race? Id love to have you give me some tips on how to get an M6 car oot of the hole clean/quick. that is how you say it, isnt it "oot"? JK.
me, Ive been workin away as usual. always got some car apart in my garage. this winters project is my dads Mecham TA. puttin in a custom cam (235/242 112+2 .651/.612 lift.), I ported his heads, flycut the pistons for both intake and exh. valve reliefs, degree'd the cam (was perfect off the bat), got the heads milled .030 (maybe .035" now, gotta get it touched up) and 5 angle valve job , painted the intake/ypipe/catback/timing chain cover/dampner, still working on polishing the waterpump/tens. pulley/throttle body/maf ends, still need to VHT the taillights and side marker lights, do the !wire mod, replace both rear tires, and polish the a/c lines and brake lines. whew! alot of fricken work. but Im learning alot as I go, so its a slow process. plus due to being busy with family stuff, took the month of december off pretty much. then waited for a few weeks for the flycutting tool to show up. ofcourse I didnt charge dad anything, but I did make him buy some tools for me.
Im hoping to have the eng. back in the car and running in the next couple weeks. its hard to get out in the cold garage after working so many hours. I really need to buy the wall furnace for the garage before next winter gets here.
