six speed question. harder shifting gears.
ok i recently bought a 97 Z M6, runs fine, but ive always noticed the gear shifitng is a little stiff, like it goes into gear, doesnt pop out or grind, it just a little tougher to put into gears, like it feels during throws that it has like a little hesitation, no grinding again, nothing.
I took it to a trans shop today, he said it shifts fine, i asked him about a little noise the tranny is making, he said probaly the TB bearing, but nothing to be concerned about.
said due to the newer clutch (spec II), that that in itself might be what im feeling or maybe replace the wayward stock shifter, as it can cause harder shifting with a newer / above stock spec clutch, again it shifts into gears, its just a little harder than i would like.
he said short of replacing the clutch set up, there isnt much he can do. Ive never had a clutch other than a DF, is this accurate? it also chatters a bit under low acceleration take offs, than goes away at about 1800 rpm o.0, im confused never seen anything like it, but the trans guy said there isnt anything wrong.
the noise is there with the clutch engaged in neutral, and he said still during disengagment, its like a rahrahrah noise, maybe a low chatter / grind? any help is appreciated.
is this normal?

It feels fully disengaged right into the gear, but hesitates as it enters, if i release the clutch a bit it will grab the synchro, almost as if im low on Slave fluid, but im not.
update: When i pull UP on the shifter during shifting it seems to enter beyond fine, could this stock shifter be that big of a POS?

if the clutch is warped, it could cause this. possibly.
Al was asking about the disengagment point of the clutch, as in pedal is to the floor, shifter in gear, at what point in the release does the clutch start to grab and apply eng. power to the output shaft? right off the floor?
