I know MI section is dead. It is winter but even this past summer was a little slow.

Re: remember when....

There's lots of bandwidth competition these days, isnt there?

Personally, I only have this to say:

Re: remember when....

I still check in here almost everyday. How about this weather? First sunny day we've had since November 20th according to WXYZ. I know I spent it well; washed my car all nice and clean! You know it's cold when you have to stop rinsing your car off to lay salt on the ground, lol. Thank god for propane heaters, pulled the car in the garage, cranked the heater on, brought the temperature in the garage to 70 degrees and then wiped the Camaro dry. Thinkin if I really get crazy enough, I'll crank the heater on next week and start with the Zaino process

I remember that time. and it was dead. for years it seemed. about 4 or 5 years back, maybe less. but there was hardly ANY conversation in this forum for weeks to months at a time.

Re: remember when....

You just wait until spring hits and we all start talking about what auto events we're going to check out.

Anyone here going to NAIS near the beginning of the week?

I'm going to try and head out to see it.

Re: remember when....

OH COOL a conversation!!!

My poor car's been sitting out in the cold for a long time now.... Should really put the car cover back on, it's just too cold out there to bother though.

I'll be going to NAIAS on the 18th (a wednesday) to avoid as much of the crowd as possible. I just might be able to see the cars !!!

Re: remember when....

Yeah Wednesday might work okay...

Speaking of conversation, I was trying to fit my Unbalanced Engineering decoupled torque arm onto the Moser and it, of course, doesnt fit.

So I am making some templates and I'll have to massage the assembly with a die grinder and a brass hammer. I probably ought to send the templates to Jason Swindle of UE so that he can make appropriate changes to his design. It's minor, just a couple different radii, but aftermarket axle folks ought to know that stuff might not work straight out of the box...

Speaking of UE, Does anyone on this board know about this killer new torque arm design? I think I'll be the first third-gen in the nation with one. In fact, I am SURE that I will be the first one, since I got the eleventh one to ever be sold, and the previous ten were for fourth-gen road racers.

This is it, the one in front:

Re: remember when....

as for the winter and all i've made some progress, since the snow is gone i got the car in the garage and pulled the tranny/clutch.

clutch was new AZ when i got the car on the road in sept. got to drive it about 3 weeks, lifted the clutchplate once on a 2nd gear burnout and it warmed it up quite a bit, well a few weeks later i was pissed cuz i had a flat on the rear, changed it and continued into work (6am) got on gratiot and got stopped at a light, i was upset and in a hurry, so i decided to try another burnout for the fun, dropped the clutch and clutch seemed to lift again or something. pedal was real low and it didn't want to disengage, couldn't figure out what the deal was.......
so yesterday i found out.

1/3-1/2 of the friction material on one side of the plate let go, was gone! lol, so i ordered up a spec 3 disc to try out for this year.

i fabbed my own tq arm last year, my half a$$ed bushed came out so i need to machine one up out of eurothene this time and trim some of the tube that's hitting the floorboard....
found out my panhard bushings are shot in my bmr tq arm so i went to livernois motorsports today, they aren't sure if they can get them.... bummer, they'll call on monday.

so i was poking around the store, my first time there and found this
http://www.ltbmotorsports.com/usbtosead.html
a usb to serial that actually works with tunercat! awesome
so finally i got my laptop to read my pcm today! just in time for the 42# injectors i ordered!

looks like this year is gonna be a good year!
