Question

When Im driving fast then go to slow down my wheel shakes. I have 13,500 miles on a 2001 SS. Is this the norm?

Doesn't sound too good to me for anything that new, SS or not... Have you checked the brake rotors? That's the first thing I'd check...

I agree. Sounds like warped rotors.

Cool

Warped rotor is correct. Take back to dealer for a little shave job.
Once done you'll be happy, HAPPY again. By the way YOMAMA,
everytime I see Yomoma I think of TOKOHAMA!! I thought for the longest time you must be Japanese!!

Shelly... Did I see your car at DSW yesterday when I dropped off Redbird, or did I see a plate like that on a Mushtang?? I dunno... I get confused lately!!??

Only lately???

BTW saw the Redturd at Speedworks. That's a sweet paintjob on the cage. Must have taken you at least ten, maybe fifteen minutes to do that one.

def. warped rotors. go to dealership and tell them you have brake pulsation at higher speeds slowing down. they will reface the rotors. if it happens again before warranty is up, tell them you want new rotors cause you can only cut them two or three times before you need to replace them. therefore, when it is time to do an actual brakejob (at your expense), you will have to pay big bucks for rotors because they didnt last like they were intended to. If you had a pontiac, I could take care of this for you, but I cant do warranty repairs on anything besides pont/GMC during the 3/36 period. on the other hand, after the 3/36 warranty is up, I can do GMPP extended warranty repairs on any GM vehicle.

Don't make me tell everyone about the duct-tape holding the Redturd together...

I had a similar problem. where the wheel would shake when I applied the brakes.. EVERYONE said it was warped rotors. turned out to be a tie rod end was moments away from letting go on me. broken ball-cup type thing... the part was only $30 and it was an EASY fix. Jack up the front of the car and see if you can wiggle the wheel back and forth.....
