Push Rod needed.

I am at my Dad's house here in Highland, Mi and we were putting the hot cam, springs, and hardened pushrods in his LS1 that is going in a 57 chevy. Anyway, cam is in, springs are in, and the 15 push rods we had are in! Yup, we somehow were missing a pushrod! He bought them used and swears that he counted them, but we cannot find it anywhere. Does anybody local, maybe within an hour from us, happen to have an extra hardened push rod (7.400") laying around that we could get from you?
Thanks.

Re: Push Rod needed.

I have a few stockers laying around. Free if you come get, or I suppose I could mail you one.
Sorry I don't have any hardened ones.

Edited when I noticed you were seeking a hardened pushrod.

Re: Push Rod needed.

thanks for the offer kevyn, but we already have the set of stockers we pulled out. I'd have been driving to wyandotte if it would have been a hardened one though...LOL.

Re: Push Rod needed.

Just in case you don't find one, i would run the stockers, as i did with my heads/cam/blown 98 Z28. My thinking was, that i wanted the cheapest part to replace be the weekest, so i left stock pushrods to bend, instead of using hardened ones, therefore endangering other more expensive harder to replace components, such as Valves.

Just a thought.

Re: Push Rod needed.

Thanks for the advice Jason. We already thought of that. Dad is not going to beat on the car, it is going to be more of a cruiser and will probably never see 6000 rpms (he has a 68 Camaro with a 302 that has only seen redline one time). However, dad does not want to have to replace anything after the car is together, so he went with the HotCam, LS6 springs, and the hardened pushrods for valvetrain reliability. He would get pretty pissed if the one stock PR was the one to need replacing after thecar was done...LOL.

I am sure once the car is done, local guys will see it at bakers, woodward, and some other local cruises. It will probably be the ony 57 that will have the Red and Black Monte Carlo Pace Car interior in it.
