Thumbs up pulled another 50- 60 pounds out of the car :)

well she is set for full race mode. i had my exhaust sectioned yesterday, and i got one of my 2 bullets in, other one got lost in shipping, must've been cause of the size of the box

i won't have it on the street till after bowling green, ooops i mean after june 7/8 weekend for mini windsor weekend at st.thomas.

i can't wait for the 31st, just have to say a prayer to the weather gods, lmao!!!!

i also made sure the car still ran so i fired it up for the entire neighbor hood to hear... doh! man does it sound good at 3000 rpm. my 5000 rpm launches should sound sweet! he he!

timberwolf,

i haven't scaled the car yet.... oh well i will scale it at bowling green and then i will have another 50 or so pounds to pull out of the car. i am eventually going to have to finish the cage, sometime this summer that will be an additional 60 or so pounds

Good luck in Bowling Green.

Brett,

yes i got it thanks!! i have a lighter battery as it is, so i am content for now to leave it in the front, then i think i would have to put a shut off back there....hmmm not for me, lol! it is still a street car

That's awesome Taner! I gotta get to a track event this year and see that machine go!

I've taken the same route as you, I've cut out as much weight as I could find on my car. Seeing the times you've managed with your car has inspired me to keep my car manualy shifter, this week I think I'm gonna order a T56 to replace my ****ed up T5. What are you using for a clutch and do you like it? What do you suggest man? I need to order it at the same time as my T56.

Good job TanMan... get some more weight out of the car to off set your fatt azz!

I did run Redbird over the scale at Milan yesterday and was PLEASENTLY suprised it weighed 3390 with MY fatt azz in it!

I've got it within 200 lbs of my old 350 MONZA... not bad and still lots more to take out! Who can donate me the money for the light front end pieces??

taner-

if you are serious about weight loss,

rotors with aluminum hats are your God-

10lbs a wheel = 40 lbs of unsprung and rotating mass

HInk,

I know even with my full bodied figure the car should weigh in at around 3375 once i get the BMR drag bar on the car.

that is very cool that you are under 3400 race weight!!! pull the bumper supports if you already haven't also door reinforcements, abs and when your battery goes i would recommend a scosche battery, it is a 10# weight savings! not too shabby. every little bit helps.
a diet for the driver would be too hard, lmmfao!!!

trey,

i just installed front aerospace drag brakes, surprisingly they work well on the street! i would love to do the rears but that is an additional $550 i don't want to spend now, maybe over the winter. gotta save something for next year, lol! plus i have to sell my ls1 rear brake setup.
