Please recommend shop to stip and polish stock painted SS wheels.

I have been thinking that I would like to stip and polish my stock 5 spoke SS wheels. Not having the tools or experience to come out with a final product I will be pleased with makes me think I should take them to a shop.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

Might be less hassle to buy a set already how you want them and sell off the painted ones. I've heard $100-150 per wheel. I checked around years ago when I had painted ones.

Maybe.

I might just try it myself. What's the worst that can happen, screw it up and have to go buy a set of rims, or have them professionally painted back to silver or powdercoated. I am not looking for a chrome or mirror finish. I actually prefer a duller aluminum finish. Mettalic and shiny, but not really shiny. Kind of liked brushed aluminum, which is already a theme on my car.

From what i have heard, painted rims don't polish to well, as they are cast differently than polished rims are, the castings are much rougher, and require alot more work, and some places won't fool with them just buy a polished set and sell your painted ones to offset the cost.

We offer polishing services, although shipping to my polisher would be expensive.

AFS wheels sells them on ebay. I think I bought mine for $480. They looked sweet on my 94z quazar blue vert.

A place called Creative Illusions in white lake has a special blasting media that semi polishes aluminum. They did some parts for me and actually had to use a rougher grade because the first blast left too much of a shine... It was real cheap as well, so give them a call. www.trainerscreativeillusions.com
