Well I can tell you from personal experience that you get what you pay for. If you have someone thats willing to work for next to nothing and do you a favor thats one thing, but if not you're gonna pay $3000-$5000 for a color change assuming little to no body work is needed.

yep, i second mike........

that color isn't that rare either as i've seen two that have been painted that color before winter and i personally know of one right now being sprayed next week the same color. 97 though.

do it because you like the color; not because it's different. color changes aren't cheap and if it isn't done right your car will look terrible and be hard to sell if it's ever a consideration.

2200 isn't bad, not a steal; but an average price if a friend is doing it. is this without the engine bay? i assume you'll be removing all the body pannels yourself to save money or are you just going to tape and spray?

Just a little insight here...

Amatuer painter + $2200 worth of air compressor and air tools + paint + F-Body = Runs, drips, fish eye, orange peel, overspray, and a waste of $2200 and an F-Body.

If you got the $ take it to someone that knows paint. Don't trust just anyone. Like I said...you get what you pay for. And there are a few less experienced people out there willing to make a name for themselves, but if it ends up botched then you got a big problem on your hands. I am not the authority on paint jobs or anything, but having owned over 100 cars in my lifetime (i'm only 31 so thats more than 3 cars a year avg. ) and having had a few of them painted at different levels of quality, i am talking from experience here.
