Paging Derty

Steve,

What is your rev limiter set at? Where are you shifting at and at what RPM do you cross the line at?

I am asking because the 28" tall slicks I was using Saturday were too tall as I was just barely getting into 4th gear before the traps. And on one run I ran 3rd gear out and crossed the line hitting my 7000 rev limiter. My shift light is set at 6800, so I was shifting around there. I think I need to step down to a 26" tall tire or possibly a 27" and was wondering what you thought of the QTP's.

I have a 3.73 rear gear. I leave the line at 5500, rev limiter is 6500 shift light comes on at 6200. I shift into 4th at about 1000 feet. I clear the trap at about 4800 or so. I have the car geared for nitrous, so I'll run out of gear eventually .

I believe my Hoosiers are 26.1" tall.

Hey Chad, did you end up getting rid of that spin-then-bog problem on launch after you painted the stripe on the tire?

The only thing different I did was I did a much shorter burn out and that seemed to help at least it got me to a 1.795 60'.

I will probably switch to a 26" tire for next year, until I use nitrous then I will need a 28" tire.

Chad, did I just see you use the "N" word? First pass and you'll be another nitrous junkie. Let me know where you are mounting the bottle, I have the trick set up for the wheel well(and cheap too $45 shipped)Need some cashflow for mat'l for the laptop holders. I'm trying to keep them about 60-70 bucks. That aluminum isn't cheap anymore

Funny you should mention this. My 26" are too small. I figured out why the ET's were not hooking very well. They were worn a bit

I switched them to the ET drags I got last year and only put 3 runs on. 26" x 10.5 also.

Going to the track tomorrow hopefully. See if I can get itto hook better.

My car shifts into 4th well before I cross the line

I might pick up a bit with the 28".. How much tread you got left on those Chad?

Yep, Skip for next year I plan on getting the car in the 11's NA and then spraying a 125 hp hit going for 10's. I could probably buy the bottle mount and the laptop stand at the same time if you want.

Harold, I will have to measure the depth of the holes. What is the new depth?

Pete,

The last few runs I was dumping the clutch at 5800 RPM

Harold,

I measured the holes in the tread and they vary from 0.139" to 0.150".

I don't know how this compares to the new depth, though.
