I'm not a Pontiac guy, but a buddy of mine at work is. So are those parts for a 400 or 455? He has a 400 so I need to know what might fit.

they can fit either block. a 455 crank can have the mains cut down to the same diam. as a 400 to work in a 400 block, the rods/pistons will bolt right in. exc. haveing to bore the block to fit the pistons anyways. the pont. guys act. like the 400 block better for performance cause of less frictional power loss with the smaller main journals and something else Im forgetting.


tim, what all is done to the trans internally? can you find out for me? did you mean reverse manual valve body? what kind? who rebuilt the trans/conv.? warranty? short tail TH400?

i think my freind is going to sign on tonite so he can anwser questions

Is $500.00 the asking price or amount he paid to get them rebuilt. If its the rebuild price. What would you what for it and is he willing to do a partial trade because i have a th350 needs to be rebuilt and a new in box TCI reverse auto/manual valve body for it if interested if not give me a price for the trans.
