New muffler for the "Mule"...???!!!
I'm looking to get rid of the 55 gallon sized drum muffler and put sumpin' on her a little more free flowing. The Mule is an 02 Silverado Z71 with a 5.3. I want something with a nice tone but not obnoxious, so this eliminates Flowbastards.
Any ideas or reccomendations? Anyone hav a 3" in and a 3" out, decent shaped muffler laying around? Chris JA, you gotz lotz of stuff laying around??!!

Hink, If you have the cash (about $1200) you can get a Banks Power System for the 5.3. I'm debating about getting one myself. Comes with headers, the pipes and the can. About a 25HP plus gain and some damn nice torque too. Gotta remember the truck has the GM Stamped Seal of empty wallet on it, LS1 Inside.

I'd do something really cheap in the aftermarket. Like one of those Summit Superturbo deals
You alwasy see them for sale but WHO THE F buys them? hahaha Do it ****! They say they flow good and they are always advertized as "mellow"...
Who knows?
If that sucks, try a Dynomax super turbo.
Flowmaster sucks
Borla will kick you in the nuts...*gasp* forget that
So will Banks!

I have a friend who went with the Dynomax. Sounds sweet. Thats the whole reason I went with Dynomax on The Red Rag. I loved the sound, and they claim its as close to a stright pipe as possible. At least thats what their web page says.
Most of our truck guys here end up liking the Dynomax systems the best, Hink. I used to have a 3" super turbo catback on the black truck and it was great. Not too obnoxious, but still good enough to feel the "seat of the pants" difference.
