Anyone in the metro detroit area that can help me screw in my passenger side hooker long tube header bolts?
I CANT DO IT , its sooooo freaking hard, sometimes they just go in part way then pop back out. im going crazy, the tubes are too close to the screws, im thinking i need to buy new ones. (Felpro gasket, ARP bolts)
Im going crazy. Someone that has done this before, PLEASE, i can pay you some money. I live on 13 mile in southfield... I need my car fixed

Thank you!

have you tryed from underneath. Also make sure the other bolts are not to tight as they may throw off the hole such a small amount they won't thread in. I think when I did them I layed on top of the engine and threaded them in.

Studs, studs, studs... I was getting sick and tired of the same thing then I had the bright idea of using studs. I didn't use studs in all six holes. But at least one stud for each pair will help get everything lined up. It worked great for my Mac midlengths. I don't know how well it would work for long tubes.

If you have the 12 point ARP bolts, throw them away!

I used Stage 8's. The center allen key helped out alot.

I also like the idea of studs. Might try that the next time...

Also, with bolts, do not tighten any until they are all started. Just get them to catch where they will not fall out. There are a few that will not start if the headers are flush with the cylinder head (the bolt heads hit the primary, and the bolt will try to crossthread). You need some play to thread them straight. At least I had to do that with FLP's.

Don't give up. It just takes some patience. I think most of us have been through this. I threw a few wrenches across the yard when I was doing mine .

I can't remember now but I think I tryed that with the hookers and it wouldn't work because the primarys were in the way. I think I did it on the first one by the alternator but the others were a problem.
