Question Need help with my '98 F-150. Can anyone run a code for me?

I'm in Rockford Mi (just north of Grand Rapids/Comstock Park and south of Cedar Springs). I'm having a real bad issue with my truck not running right, and today it threw a code. It was blinking at first and now it stays on.

Read about it here:

I'll give you $10 bucks for gas if you can do it.

Thanks,
Milo.

Take it to Autozone. They have a code reader they should be able to throw on it and atleast tell you what's wrong. They do it for free. Any one of em in GR should be able to help you out. I'm just north of you in Big Rapids and my buddy has a code reader at work. If you don't figure it out by Friday let me know and I'll see if he can bring it home if your willing to drive up here. He's a ford mechanic btw, so I bed he probably just knows what's wrong with it. Sry I didn't read your link to the post yet. Let me know.

You have a misfire code..the actual code will tell you which cyl is missing, but that is basically useless if it only needs a secondary tune up. the blinking lite refers only to a misfire. Basically, If you have not replaced your ign wires you def need a set of those, this is most common with the 4.6. Water test the wires...squirt the ign wires with water and then brake torque the engine, if the wires are leaking the miss will go constant and the engine will miss on every cylinder that has a leaky wire. good luck with it...I hate changing those wires on an f 150

I bought the truck from my Dad at around 95k miles. He had just done the plugs and wires then. I trust his work 100%. He is the best auto mechanic around - ever. He can make things run that shouldn't. I don't doubt he did a fine job with the plugs and wires. Any other idea's? I'm getting the fuel filter changed today as well.

Thank you. I will try and get it to AutoZone this week. If not, I'll see if I could use your friends help.

Thanks again all.

Well, even good lifetime warranty wires can go in less than 40,000 miles...I see it all the time, I`ve been an auto tech for the last 18 years now.

The truck seems to be fixed. It looks like it was the PCV valve.

Here is the updated:
