My First AutoX Event

Went to my first AutoX event yesterday and it was pretty damn cool. I normally just drag race at the strip about 20 min. from my house and do street tire shootouts and stuff like that. But this AutoX was a lot of fun! We had a teacher ride with us first. It was a Solo2 race. The teacher drove my car with me riding shotgun first after we walked the course. Then I got to drive and I ended up knocking off 3 seconds off my instructors time! He was shocked. But I did pretty good for my first time the instructors said. I am no master by far but I think I am gonna deffiently do it again and just keep trying to beat my times and if I beat some other people in the process then so be it.

Talking hlkj

How long was the course Eric? Seconds wise I mean. You have to make it to the Memorial Day event. The last track setup at the palace was a minute 40 Definately the longest I've ever been on.

Oh and also did you figure out what class your car falls into? I am typically stuck in E Street Perepared(ESP) with dudes that run full out road race slicks. All because I have 17" rims! haha Ah well.

Well the best time I saw was from a WRX that ran a 22 second and he was REALLY good.

I talked to an instructor and he said I am would be in the Novice class right now but if I was to throw on my SFC's then that would put me in Street Prepped. He said I should try Novice first cause he said I would win for sure at one of the events but if I wanted to keep my car from cracking (T-tops,etc) then I should put the SFC's on. So I think I am just gonna throw on the SFC's soon and race myself cause there is no way I am gonna hang with these guys who run all out slicks and stuff.

Tom,

If your interested in AutoX get in contact with the Toronto F-body motorsports club. They just held an Solo2 this past weekend that from all the rave, went incredibly well. They have another one soon just check their site www.tfbm.com under events.

Also are you going to the Mustang/F-body shootout this weekend at TMP?? Should be a good day of racing.
