MORE M8 magazine coverage, PLUS news of M9 magazine coverage!

I just got word from Barry Kluczyk regarding his covereage of M8...

There's going to be an approximately 3-page story on your event in the May/June issue of Pontiac Enthusiast magazine.
He also added that it might make yet another magazine as well, but that is not 100% certain. If it happens, you will defintely hear about it.

Barry also went on to say...

And, yes, I'll plan to get up there again this year... Just promise me perfect weather so that I can shoot a few of the cars for feature stories!!
That along with the possibility of S3 magazine being there again is going to be very cool.

M9 is going to make M8 look like M3!

Way cool, Jason!

By the way, I "discovered" a whole 22 minutes of M8 video footage that I forgot I had! It was on an unlabeled Hi-8 videotape, and includes the eliminations, with several of Steve's wheels-up launches that put his Trans Am into the nines at 130-something MPH. The tape ends with Matt Cybalski winning the Quick 16 race in style.

Maybe I need to expand the M8 video short and put THAT onto DVD as a standalone piece?

I think that if we do an M9 DVD, we could add a bonus featurette on M8 like we did with the Nationals DVD, but revised with the newly discovered footage. WHat do you think?

Cool

For those interested, I just got confirmation from Barry that it is definitely in the May/June issue of Pontiac Enthusiast magazine, and a nice fat 3-pager at that!

It was part of the National Event DVD.

The M8 video short was on the Nationals DVD. It'll probably return in modified form on the M9 DVD, I'd expect. I found an additional tape of the event that I didn't know I had in which we see Matt Cybalski win the eliminations in his black third-gen Trans Am. However, I don't have any plans to make a M8-specific DVD. However, you never know! I just got my mastercard bill for the new equipment for this year's project and it's huge, like $1900 worth.

$1250 in software alone. I want the M9 DVD to be ten times better than the Nationals DVD.

Dammit...does anyone have a copy of the June issue of High Performance Pontiac? I missed it and didn't get a chance to pick one up.

If someone has it and can scan the M8 article in it, I would certainly appreciate it. If no scanner is available, I would like to buy a copy from someone if they don't mind selling it.
