Milan rental Sept 15th

The Royal Pontiac club has a track rental coming up in a couple weeks on Sat. morning at Milan. The club officers are encouuraging anyone to show up reguardless of make of car because not enough club members are showing up to cover the cost of the track rental. Only club members can run for points, but there will be plenty of time for open test and tune runs. If there is enough demand, open time runs can be made between elimination rounds while the race cars are cooling down as well as the 2 hours before elimations begin.

Count me in if the weather is cool.

I have at least one or two others that will be there.

it was $40 last time. maybe it was $45. highest Ive ever paid, but still worth it cause the track is prepped and you can make alot of runs in the 2 hours.

Milan dragway raised their rental fees this year so the club upped the entry fee to $45. The club is trying to make this work so they can continue their drag series and open invitational for next year. I should be there. Motown Muscle has a race Tue evening at 6pm and I need some practice on the tree.

I paid $55. Probably because I had a spectator.

Well worth the money. If the weather is cooler, I'll be there too.

Hey Chris,

Like I said, if you can go in the morning you can park your trailer in my drive while you go to the MI game.

Gates open at 830am, time trials start at 9am. We have the track until noon. Newsletter states that gates will be locked at 9am, but I have arrived at 930am before and got in. Basically, the club treasurer doesnt want to stand at the entrance shack all morning to collect entrance fees, so he would like everyone to be there by 9am. Newsletter also states that once time trials begin, NO tech cards will be issued. So dont use me as an example and try to get there at 830am so your car can cool down before time trials begin or if you trailered your car, you will have time to unload it, warm it up, and have it teched. You also need the appropriate safety equipment to match the performance of your car. Long pants are manditory for all vehicles and a helmet for cars going 14 secs or quicker. Some tracks, like Lapeer, have made a helmet manditory for all racers, but I dont think Milan has done that yet. 6 point cage and 5 point harness for cars quicker than 11.49. 10 point cage, fire suit and chute for cars that are quicker yet.

nah, I cant go to all the games simply cause they have soo many home games this year, gotta spend some time with the miss'. so, I decided apolation state game could be missed. but I cant wait to get in there and start yelling LETS GO BLUE!!!!!

Im goin to see if I can make the sept15 rental, but only IF its cool out. if its 80 or above I'll skip it. I have FULL plans on goin to M12 this year. even though I'll be missing the MI/Eastern MI game that afternoon. Im sure I'll be ok to miss that one too.

you goin to come out to M12?

Jack, you should change back to TAJACK now huh? lol.

Well, at 9am the temps should be in the mid 60s to low 70s tops. I guess we will have to wait and see what the forecast is? The average high temp in mid Sept. is 73, avg low temp is 53.

Yea, I sold the GTO and have a TA again. Its for sale but I'm not getting any calls on it, probably because of the modifications. It has the upper end done with LS6 intake, hardened pushrods, 1.8 rockers, headers, exhaust, 12 bolt(3.42), FLP built trans, 3600 stall, carbon fiber drive shaft and some suspension goodies. Since it is still stock heads and cam, it has excellent street manners, but needs another 150hp IMHO. I'd like to Procharge it, but I currently dont have the currency. Just 3 more years of payments and it will be all mine. :-)

just stick in an MS4 and have a ball. you got the rest of the supporting mods already for that cam,(except maybe the gear is a little too mild for matching the cam perfectly). any track times with it yet?
