MI Plate Registration Fees

Well, it looks as though I might be picking up a 87 Iroc this weekend and was wondering if anyone knows off hand what their registration fee was? I ask because the secretary of state accepts cash only, no debit cards/credit cards. I'm trying a have enough cash on me to walk in, pay and walk out. Since it's based on mrsp I know it's not exact but I can take what I'm told and bring $20 extra just in case.

The car is a l98 with all options if that helps the responses.

Thanks in advance

I've already been to the website. Maybe I'm missing something but it says what I already know, the registration fee is based on msrp on cars newer than 1984.

either bring alot of money or just bring a check that you can fill out when you get there. they do take checks. that would suck to get there andnot have enough to cover it. you could always call them before you go there to see how much it'll be. cant find my Irocs reg. to tell ya how much my 86 was.

Thanks for the replies. I'll most likely bring a blank check. That option never crossed my mind since I never use checks since I have a debit card.

Thanks again

I'd bring a jar of KY as well. Now that the State of Michigan is in cash grab mode they probably have invented several new fees that will require even more money. God I want Engler back.

I hear ya... I'm always b!tching about the fee's but they have to offset the tax margin somewhere. Would you rather they raise your taxes? I would'nt
