Exclamation M7 EVENT INFO - All who plan to attend, READ!

Hey all!

For those who do not know what M7 is, go here:
http://www.migmevent.com
All GM racing event in Stanton, MI, October 5. Be there!

Now that I got that out of the way...

M7 is not even 2 weeks away. Hope everyone is as excited as I am about it! I can't believe it is so close.

Here are some notes of interest...

Pre-registration
Pre-registration by mail is closed, but I am still accepting online pre-registrations until this Saturday. You can pre-register here:
http://www.migmevent.com/m7/preregister.shtml
Remember, you do NOT have to pre-register to attend but you will save a few bucks if you do.

I will provide a list of all pre-registrants my mail later this evening, and online pre-registrants by this Sunday.

Sponsors
We have some cool sponsors this year that are graciously helping this event. They are listed here along with what they will be providing:

NuTek Motorsports - Helping with track rental
TByrne Motorsports - Trophies and portion of prize money
Billingsley Racing - TBA, will be at event with display and exhibition runs with their race car
Detroit Speedworks - TBA, more than likely dyno gift certificates for fastest car on 100% street tires
ChevyMall/PontiacMall - Gift certificates
Club Conceptz - TBA
Kart2Kart - Discount coupons for Kart racing
Classic Chevy Int. - Misc. Goodies
MBA Products - Gift certificates
Zaino Bros. - Car polish products
Chevrolet Club Connection - Misc. goodies

Now here is the REAL nice part...
There will again be prize money for bracket elimination and Quick 16 winners. It won't be a fortune or anything, but this will be the second year in a row we will be doing this. This prize money is provided in part by our very own Steve Miller on behalf of his site, CamaroV6.Com. So extra special thanks to Steve for doing this, it is a tremendous gesture. With track insurance rates going through the roof and that cost being passed onto me, it will most certainly help.

So what do I do with all the goodies and gift certificates provided by the above? In the past I would just randomly throw stuff out to people, but many have expressed to me that it might not be the proper way to go. This year we are going to try something new...we are going to have a raffle for all the goodies. I will be selling raffle tickets during the event and we will draw the numbers during the awards at the end of the event. You must be present to win, so be sure to stick around. Each participating car entered into the event will get a goodie bag with some stuff in it, and will include one ticket to start off with. Additional tickets can be purchased throughout the event. Price for additional tickets has not been determined, but it won't be anything nutty like $5 a ticket or anything like that.

After event cookout
Unless something goes terribly wrong, there WILL be an after event cookout this year, dammit. In the goodie bags mentioned above, there will be a map to the Ionia state park. After the event, we'll all head over to the park for some chillin' and grillin'. Hot dogs and such will be provided by Quinten (Quintin? Whatever... dreamer1q here on the board ). His plan will be the food etc. being free but donations to CamaroZ28.Com will be accepted in return. He also plans to being a toolbox, jack, etc. for the event. The man is a saint, I tell ya. You can also bring your own supplies if you like. A State Park Motor Vehicle Permit is requited to enter the park. A daily permit is only $4.00.

Dyno
There was not enough interest in having a dyno at the event, so the idea has been scrapped. Oh, well.

Weather
October 5 is currently too far away to predict what the weather will be for the event, but the day before is looking DAMN good with partly sunny skies and a high of 68 degrees. Of course, this could change by the time you finish reading this post, but always remember that the track area is often very dry even though it is raining only a few miles away. If they sky looks crappy, take a chance and show up anyway. At the very least we can all wait it out for a little while or start the cookout early. Shouldn't be a problem, though. Many people have missed the event in previous years because they thought it was going to rain when it didn't.

Hotel Parties
The parties the night before the event in the hotel are getting quite famous and well...all I wanna say is to try remember to keep it cool and down to a low roar. I don't want anyone to make an *** out of themselves (including me! ). Enjoy yourselves and all that crap, but we want to make sure we can use this hotel for this event each year, so... eh... ah... you get the point.

And I think that is it for now!

If anyone has any questions, concerns, ideas or there was something that I missed, PLEASE let me know here or through e-mail.

Thanks! See you all there!

At the gate the entry fee is $35 for one car, one driver and one additional guest.

The Amerihost Inn in downtown Ionia.

I think they still have rooms and are still honoring the group rate.

I'm all set to go.

I'll have my new gears installed, and my Safty Loop installed by then. The only thing I need is a helmet.......

Unless I can borrow one, I'll be watching.

John, I'll be at the track tonight. I'll check to see what gas they have. Hopefully they can open the pumps up for some gas. I'll also check the two local gas stations for ya!
