floor throttle, dump clutch. hold on. hahaha.

taner, just curious, I respect what your doin with the quickest t56 and all, but just curious at what point is all that tranny work/money taking away from your drag racing experience/fun factor? I know to me, I would have been like- hell with that long ago.
but I too hope you'll be there so I can watch your car make some sick pass's

dan,

see above

to me it is all about driving it on the street! i don't believe i could have a car that traps low 9's and drive it on the street and highway when i choose. then again with as much as it has been broken lately it takes away from that. only one more goal and i will dial it back!!! well a wee bit anyhow!

1.5 passes after putting it back together it is broken again!!!! and on motor! wtf!!!

well I know what your saying with the overdrive, but a gear vender could make a th400 low 9sec car pretty happy on the street. however the proper stall conv. to run what you got might not like street driving. that would probably be a consession (spelling?) to make. but I hear ya. I do love a good T56. just not in the car I want to go to the track with.

well since i can't afford another car like that with an auto then there is no point. the T56 is one huge compromise for track use/ optimal ET. i drop my trans off tomorrow

But think about this a properly set up nitrous converter for a shot like Tanner runs would be very tight on motor so with the TH400/Gear Vender combo it would drive very nicely on the street, on motor.

After M12 is over, I'll probably be pulling my T56 out for an R&R. Taner, I expect to be hunting you down at the event because I have some questions for you about how to tackle this SFI 6.1, 6.2, 6.3 specification in an LT1 configured T56 application. From what I can tell, it looks like I might have to chuck the whole LT1 clutch assembly to make it work. I'd sure hate to have to lose my aluminum flywheel because I love it's revvability! Your insight would be most helpful----

Never planned on a 400, just chose between the 2. Plenty of people having good results in heavy cars at a decent power level with a 2 speed. After seeing Scott's similar combo go low 9's on 2 occasions sealed the deal. 1 occasion he used first gear. Another, he accidentally left in second gear(th400)...Timeslip really didn't show a difference. Saves a few pounds, supposedly is more efficient, and I think it will be more consistant. Less shifting on the street too, no downshift for a highway race.

what about the 60? his 60 was near the same? I know for some applications, having the higher 1 gear of the glide will get more traction and a quicker 60 due to less torque trying to turn the tire. you talking about scott K's camaro? or a different scott?

so you bringing the camaro to M12 or what? what kind of times you plannin on running with it?

I don't remember specifics but if the ET was similar I'd assume the 60 was also. It was consistant low 9's back then. M12 is for sure and we'll see what it runs tomorrow at Milan. 10.60's with the crap converter flashing to 6000 out of the hole. This new one should see 4000 on spray and maybe take advantage of the whole powerband, not just 6000-7000. No reason it shouldn't go 9.9X with hook and the same 150 jet. MPH should go from 122 to 135-137'ish. I'm not certain but it sounds right to me.

cool. I agree, should see 9's IF the new convertor does what tis supposed to. it'll be a wild ride thats for sure. plus, if you hit 150mph, you got a built in parashute. just pull the lever(s) hahaha.

dont you have to be certified to run 9.XX?
